It is with extremely heavy hearts that Caroline and I announce that we will be closing Zydeco as of this Friday. Over the last year, we have gotten to meet so many new and loyal friends and we are going to miss serving you Shrimp Remoulade, Roast Beef Po Boys, Chicken Salad, Muffulettas, Zydeco Freezes and Lime in da Coconuts. Your loyalty and patronage has meant so much to us. We would like to thank everyone who gave us such great reviews and told your friends. Coastal Performance is requiring too much of my time and I am unable to do both with our new shirt and camouflage line coming out for the fall. Our original plan was for, once we got it up and running, to hire someone to come and help run things. Our first several months were great and then the seemingly endless construction on Camellia Blvd., the flood, and so many chains opened at what seemed like the same time. We lost around 50% of our business as these things happened. Once the construction dust settled in the Spring, it was just too hard for a new business to regain momentum. We are going to miss seeing all of you every week, and I know I am going to miss watching my lovely wife, on those full house days, when all the tables were talking to each other as old friends, flitting about, taking care of "her customers."
We will still be available for your catering needs.
