The official end date of the Lunar New Year celebration in Asian culture is when the lantern festival ends, this year its March 3rd. Lunar New Year is widely celebrated across East and Southeast Asia, most notably in Vietnam (as Tết), South Korea (as Seollal), Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Brunei, and Taiwan. This is our first year celebrating it with our customers at our restaurant and we wanted to help you learn about it!

It's tradition to receive money for Lunar New Year. We spent the weekend giving as many kids as we could red envelopes with money inside. Having grown up with this tradition it has always been something we have looked forward to as children. We look forward to continuing this tradition with our customers!

Lunar New Year celebrations 2026 begins on February 17th and ends March 03rd this year, marking the start of the Year of the Fire Horse. As the most significant holiday in China and many Asian cultures, it celebrates the start of spring based on the lunisolar calendar. Key traditions focus on family reunions, cleaning homes, wearing red for good luck, gifting money in red envelopes, and watching fireworks.
