🇯🇵🤝🇺🇸 Congratulations to Isahaya City, Japan, and the City of Athens, Tennessee, on the 40th Anniversary of Your Sister City Relationship! 🎉

Forty years of friendship, cultural exchange, and connection between our two communities is a wonderful milestone worth celebrating!

Mayor Eaton has been rescuing and caring for injured hawks. For this special anniversary celebration, he brought two red-tailed hawks to be released as a beautiful symbol of the enduring friendship between Athens and Isahaya.

🦅 Releasing these two hawks at the commemorative ceremony celebrates the strength of our friendship and our commitment to sustaining this special relationship for generations to come.

May the friendship between Athens and Isahaya continue to soar high for many more years! ❤️🌏

🍣 Futomaki Day with Bearden High School ROTC! 🍣

The Asian Culture Center of Tennessee had a wonderful time visiting the ROTC cadets at Bearden High School to teach them how to make traditional Japanese futomaki (thick sushi rolls).

Just look at their sushi! They did a fantastic job rolling, slicing, and plating like pros. 👏

Many of these cadets will serve in Asia as officers in the near future. We hope they remember this experience, stay open to other cultures, and build lasting friendships with local communities in Japan and across Asia. 🇯🇵🌏
