Old Iron, New Light: The Story Behind Our Arena Chandeliers!
🌅 There's a moment right at dusk out here at the Outpost — when the sky turns that deep Arizona blue, the old trees go quiet, and one by one, the lights start to glow. ✨ If you've caught it in person this week, you know exactly what we mean. We've had SO many compliments on our chandeliers as we've been putting the finishing touches on the arena, we just have to give thanks to the man behind the artistry. 🙌
Here's the fun part — Rik didn't build these from scratch. He found them. 🔍 Beautiful old wrought iron pieces with history already baked into every scroll and lantern, just waiting for someone to see what they could become. That's the magic of Rik Gonzalez of Diamond G Ranch Works: a local artisan, a bit of a mad scientist 🧪, and a man with a gift for spotting the soul in something old. He retrofitted every one of these pieces for solar power ☀️ and hung them himself, branch by branch, so they'd glow all on their own — no cords, no fuss, just pure old-world charm lit up the easy way. 💡
And honestly? That's exactly why Rik was the perfect fit for Kirkland's. Take a seat in our dining room sometime and you'll see we've built this whole place the same way — eclectic furniture, salvaged pieces, every table with its own story, nothing here bought new just to look old. Rik looked at those chandeliers the way we look at everything at Kirkland's: not "what was this," but "what can this become." Now they're hanging over our arena tables, solar-powered and shining, doing exactly what they were always meant to do — just somewhere new, somewhere better.
Rik, you're officially one of our best-kept secrets, and we're done keeping you a secret. 🤠
Here's why we've been polishing every last detail: this Saturday, September 5th, we're debuting our brand new outdoor stage and bar 🎤🍻 at PARTY AT THE OUTPOST, our very first inaugural outdoor concert — Western Fusion Band takes the stage 1pm–4pm, and the Josh Roy Band closes it out 5pm–8pm. 🎶 Picture it: those chandeliers glowing gold above the tables, the new stage and bar lit up and ready to go, our old trees standing watch like they always have, and that true Arizona sky doing the rest.
