Join us…

Marcus has been the heartbeat 🥁 behind the house band, In The Loop, bringing the blues to life, filling the room with soul, and giving so many of us moments we won’t forget.

His talent didn’t just entertain… it connected people, lifted spirits, and built community.

Now, he’s answering a new calling. As he prepares to join the United States Army, we want to send him off the only way we know how—with music, energy, and a whole lot of love.

Join us at Vida Roxy tonight for a Send-Off Jam Session to celebrate his new journey, honor his commitment, and wish him well.

Come out, enjoy the music, and help us pack the room one more time.

Drop your words of encouragement below, share a memory, or just show up and show support. Let’s make sure he knows how much he means to this community before he heads into this next chapter.

Once a band leader, always a leader. We’re proud of you and we’ve got your back every step of the way!

GOOOO ARMY!!

A huge congratulations to Bob Margolin! It was just announced today that he will be inducted into the Blues Hall Of Fame class of 2026! In addition to his seven legendary years in the Muddy Waters Band, Bob has toured all around the world, spreading the word and the fellowship of The Blues. He has years of important contributions to hundreds of recording sessions! His work as one of the partners of the VizzTone Label Group has helped launch the careers of so many great upcoming blues artists. And his many years as the musical director of the Pinetop Perkins Foundation Workshop Experience has provided valuable mentorship to young, aspiring blues musicians, many who have gone on to have successful careers! Bob Margolin is the Blues world’s blessing! Much love to this great man!

Charlie Musselwhite : I have great memories of Mike (Bloomfield). He sure turned a lot of people on to blues. He really loved blues, there's no doubt about that; he was just a fanatic about it. And he was one of the funniest people I ever knew. The two of us would just be in tears laughing, just gasping for breath, your ribs about to break. But he could be different and strange. His mind was so...he couldn't relax. That was his problem in a nutshell. A doctor could probably go on for hours about what his problem was, I don't know, but I know that he couldn't settle down, he couldn't sleep. Life was real hard for Mike.

"I wanted to play the blues," Chuck once told Rolling Stone. "But I wasn't blue enough. We always had food on the table."

So he channelled his other frustrations into music. Roll Over Beethoven, widely believed to be a manifesto for rock and roll music, was in fact an affectionate dig at his sister, Lucy, who spent so much time at the family piano he couldn't get a look in.

Still, the swagger and the message - that Beethoven and Tchaikovsky had been rendered redundant by the sheer power of Chuck and his cherry-red Gibson - resonated with musicians all over the world.

The song has subsequently been covered by the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, ELO and even Iron Maiden.
