Great wine in east Texas? Absolutely! The owner is highly knowledgeable about his product and serves top quality wines. And he's great to talk to! We highly recommend this place. We're just passing through town but hope to get back this way someday to partake again!

We are looking forward to bringing the tasting room to Lindale this weekend. Stop by on Friday or Saturday at the Piney Woods wine festival and taste & purchase some of our newest as well as some old favorites. Robert and Susan will host the tasting room on Friday evening and then robert will be our on Saturday and we close the tasting room should be a great weekend so join us for some great wine and fun.

🍷 The Story Behind the Space

Before it was Britt’s, this building was the Elder School.

Built during the oil boom, it first served the children of families who came to Kilgore looking for opportunity and a new start.

In the years that followed, it became a segregated school for African-American students. Like much of the South at the time, that history reflects both division and the strength of the community that existed within it.

Later, it served all kinds of students and, eventually, as an alternative school. A place for students who needed something different. A place where people found their way.

We like to think that part hasn’t changed.

Today, it’s still a place to gather. To connect. To belong.

Just with a little more wine involved. 🍷

Join us Tuesday, May 5th at 6:30 PM for the very first Portes of Britt. 🍷
This relaxed, in-person four-course dinner is built around a unique challenge: pairing each course with a different style of Port wine.

Port isn’t an easy wine to work with. Its richness, sweetness, and higher alcohol content usually keep it in the dessert lane. But Britt saw an opportunity to do something different.

With the help of a few friends (and fellow Port enthusiasts) bringing out high-end bottles from their personal cellars, Britt has designed a full menu to complement each one without overwhelming the palate or repeating flavors.

It’s thoughtful. It’s creative. And it’s pushing the boundaries of what a pairing dinner can be.

🍷 Wine Wednesday Feature 🍷

We’ve got something special coming up next week…

On Tuesday, May 5th at 6:30 PM, join us for the very first Portes of Britt.
