Well, we wanted to go out with a bang, but sometimes the universe has other plans.

After thinking on this, not sleeping on this, and seeing this morning's headlines, we have made the very difficult decision that tonight will be the last night of the Starlite Lounge.

five years ago we started this restaurant because we love this community, and wanted to bring the kind of food and drink we love to share with you. It is because we care so much about you that we have decided this is the socially responsible thing to do to help and ensure everyone's continued health and safety.

Once we are over the hump, Eddy Out will be opening its doors later in April and we can all start a fresh new food and drink chapter for the Kern River Valley.

Tonight we will be open from 4 to 9pm, so come in and get those famous Starlite Wings for that last time. And if you still have a credit with us, please message us privately and we will arrange for you to use it to take wine home with you this week. We don't know about you, be we could use a drink!

Well, it really, REALLY pains us to do this, but in light of recent events, and our Governor's statements just today, we don't want to ramp up fears, and we feel it would be irresponsible for us to hold this, our last Wine Down Wednesday at the Starlite.

Those of you who have prepaid for the event, please come in and we will refund your method of payment.

We are so sad and disappointed, but all of our health comes first.

We will continue to operate our normal hours of operation, Thursday through Monday, 4 to 9pm, for the next two weeks and make every possible effort to make the Starlite a safe and worry-free environment for you.

On this Fun & Games Sunday we are toning it down a smidge, taking it easy breezy, and we are painting rocks at the Starlite for the last time! Don't know if you're aware, but WE started the Kernville Rocks movement, and we're so thrilled that this small gesture of kindness, of spreading happiness, has taken off throughout the Valley. Hope to see you there! Or just come in and have some good food, good drink, and good company. Cheers!

COVID-19 is on everyone's minds these days, and with the coronavirus now being declared a National Emergency, we wanted to reassure our customers about our health and safety standards.

Please know that we at the Starlite have always upheld the highest of Health Department requirements. We clean and sanitize our kitchen and dining areas throughout our work shifts, store, cook and serve our food at proper temperatures, and clean the restaurant thoroughly every evening.

Our cooks wash their hands and use gloves when preparing your food. Our servers wash our hands constantly throughout our shifts. Plates and glasses are always cleaned per health department standards for sanitization. Utensils are cleaned and health department mandated high temperatures, and wrapped with clean cloth napkins for each individual customer.

Every effort is made to keep you safe. However, we understand that if you are at high risk, you may not want to venture out. You are always welcome to call us with a To-Go order and it is our pleasure to bring your order to your car if it makes you more comfortable.

At the same time, we ask for your help. If you are ill, please stay home and take care of yourself. Seek immediate medical attention if needed.

We can get through this, together.

We are switching over to Dawn's famous Sangria for Springtime Tiki Time!

ON TAP we are serving the popular "Asteroid Buckaroo" IPA from Great Change Brewing, and their "Pearla Negra" Stout this week as well!
