Since it’s Thursday, we’re throwing it back to harvest 2020 . Toca Madera will start bottling reds from that vintage this spring. The 2020 vintage seems like ages ago, and just yesterday at the same time.

🚨FEATURED WINERY ALERT!🚨

With the excitement of the Holidays and the New Year past us, we decided to make our first Friday of 2022 an exciting one! We popped into to show everyone what the hype is about. Located just west of the intersection at Rd 23 and Avenue 16. They are open Mon-Fri 1-5 pm, Sat 11am-5pm, and Sunday 12-5 pm.

I started the day off, speaking to the Tasting Room Manager, Erica Magarian. She explained to me the huge success they have seen recently with the new line of sparkling wines. As one of the larger family owned/ran wineries in our AVA, they just busted through 30,000 cases annually. Congrats to them! 🍾🍇🎊

I also had a very interesting and fun conversation with the current winemaker, Miguel Sanchez. He’s been 1 year and everyone at the facility is raving about him. He’s excited to work on the 2019 single appellation Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir as well keeping focus on the sparkling program. After just crushing 454 tons for 2021 vintage, he’s thrilled with the quality and expects some excellent wines in the not to distant future.

Just like everyone on our wine trail, San Joaquin Wine Company is a must stop as well.

CHEERS🍾🍾🍷🍇🎊🎆

🚨Featured Winery🚨

As the rain is heading our way this week, we dropped in on Fasi Estate Winery . Open 7 days a week 11:00 am - 5:00 pm. They are located off HWY 41 and RD 208. A beautiful winery that is a must taste in the Madera AVA.

With Ken Post as the winemaker, and his Assistant Winemaker, Matt Albarez, they are producing true to vineyard delicious wines each vintage. Kens daughter Brianna Post, manages the day to day operations and keeps the hospitality side of things going great. Just like many of our Madera Wine Trail Wineries, it’s truly family run.

Currently, Fasi is getting ready to bottle a 1000 cases of wine, including 2021 whites and a few 2020 reds. Ken expressed to us his excitement for the Malvasia Bianca, and his new experimentations with Italian varieties in the 2021 vintage that just ended.

Brianna and Matt, are looking forward to 2022, expecting something more than a winery, but a baby to grow the family. Congrats to them!🎉

We definitely feel lucky to have a place like as part of our wine trail. To continued success, CHEERS! 🍇🍷

The sun is leaking through while we experience a break from the rain here in Madera. We have seen a much welcomed 1.5 inches of rain all around our AVA and in town. Photoed is with the amazing lighting and perfect view. Check my next post to see what specials and wine sales the Madera wineries are running this holiday season. 🍇🍷

You can feel it in the air! Things are cooling off and leaves are changing color. Madera is all finished up with harvest and heading into dormancy. The final stage in the grape vines growth cycle each year. We captured this beautiful picture vineyard in the heart of the Madera AVA. Tasting rooms are open all year and most days of the week. Look to Madera next time you want a unique and true representation of the land. Cheers! 🍇🍷🍾
