Many of you know me as one of the family owners of Four Horsemen Brewery. Over the years, you've shared a beer with us, attended events, supported our small business, and watched us navigate some incredibly difficult challenges.
Like many business owners and property owners, we’ve spent years dealing with overly burdensome government regulations, property taxes, appeals, public records requests, and fighting through systems that are confusing, unresponsive, and difficult for ordinary people to navigate. Those experiences have taught me a lot about how government impacts everyday residents, families, and small businesses.
After spending years challenging King County, advocating for property rights, participating in property tax appeals and researching our entire property tax system, I’ve been actively pushing to improve transparency and accountability in our local government, and therefore decided to run for King County Assessor.
This isn't a decision I made lightly. I'm not a career politician. I'm a small family business owner, taxpayer, and King County resident who believes property owners deserve a system that is transparent, accountable, understandable, and fair.
I appreciate all of the support our community has shown our family and our business over the years. I look forward to still being a family business owner while also pushing to bring fairness and accountability to a system that is broken and needs fixed.
