A Message to Our CommunityAfter twenty-five incredible years, it is with a heavy heart that I announce the temporary closure of The Black North Inn.It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve this community — not only through food and hospitality but by providing so many of our community’s next generation the start of their professional journey. Watching young talent grow, learn, and go on to build successful careers has been one of my proudest accomplishments.I am deeply grateful for the friendships, the connections, and the lessons shared with so many of you over these years. Your loyalty and laughter have filled these walls far more than any recipe or menu ever could. To borrow a lyric that feels deeply fitting at this moment:
"I'd love to change the world. But I don't know what to do, so I'll leave it up to you…"I wish I had been able to share this news of the change in management at The Black North Inn sooner. The winds of Lake Ontario are calling me toward new adventures, and though this chapter closes, I carry each of you with me — in gratitude, in memory, and in heart. With love and thanks,
Kristian Rowell “”Beanie”
