WHY THE NAME “PEEPER’S”?
Well, to answer that question we must first ask you a question. Do you know what a Peeper is? Most people do not, so don’t feel bad. A Peeper is a very small frog. The Northern Spring Peeper (Hyla crucifer crucifer), with the possible exception of the bullfrog, is the most popular frog in Ohio. Its shrill peep, or whistle, is one of the first signs of spring and can be heard for a great distance. The Northern spring peeper is so small that it could sit comfortably on a dime!
Now that you know what a peeper is, allow me to tell you a short story. Jason the owner of Peeper’s, was born and raised in Ohio with two siblings. One of those siblings, unfortunately passed, his name is Kirk. When they were little boys they were always outside playing with their friends. As kids do… Kirk received the nickname “peeper” due to his size. Jason and Kirk were very close and he is thought of often. To Honor his brother’s memory and bring a piece of him into the business, Jason chose “Peeper’s”.
