Water Safety Tips from our certified trainers 👌
Splashing is fun, but safety comes first! 🌊
Summer is heating up, and while we love watching our pups cool off, water safety is a team effort. Whether you’re hanging out at the splash zones or heading out to the river, keep these 4 golden rules in mind:
Watch the Intake: Biting at hoses or splashing water is fun, but gulping too much water too fast can lead to water intoxication (hyponatremia). Take frequent breaks!
Fresh Bowls Only: Keep your pup away from stagnant puddles or heavy communal water sharing. Make sure your pup has access to a fresh, clean bowl of cold water at all times.
Know Your Swimmer: Heavy-chested or short-nosed pups tire out incredibly fast. Consider a life jacket with a sturdy handle—it's fashionable and a lifesaver.
Eyes on Your Pack: Distractions happen when we're socializing! Remember to keep an active eye on your dog even during casual water play. You are your dogs ultimate lifeguard.
