At age 15, I started working as a busboy and dishwasher in a Mexican restaurant after coming from El Salvador to the U.S. After 30 years o

f work experience in restaurants, I worked my way up to manager at another Mexican restaurant here in Katy, Tx. I got married 23 years ago and we’re still going strong. I teach life lessons, business lessons, and work ethics to my three children who help at the restaurant sometimes. I watched other chefs using canned, frozen, and prepackaged ingredients in the kitchen and then cooking/frying in unhealthy ways. In 2019, I decided to use higher quality, healthier and freshest ingredients to create menu items made and cooked in my own restaurant. Lozano’s Mexican Latin Cocina opened in 2020 with a leap of faith and God’s help at the beginning of the pandemic while other restaurants were closed. You might wonder how I work 14 to 16 hours a day, seven days a week, and still have lots of energy to greet customers and run a full-service restaurant and catering business. The secret: I work out, walk twenty miles a week and eat the same healthy food I serve. My guiding principles and values for my restaurant are:
1. Provide outstanding, top-quality fresh ingredients and meats to support healthy
eating.
2. Have the best prices in the market for first-rate, delicious, and mouth-watering
food.
3. Present savory outstanding menu items to beat or equal fine dining restaurants.
4. Establish close relationships with friends, families, and the community and help
as needed.
5. Believe and have faith in God who helped me open this restaurant and brought
me many wonderful friends as customers. Come, see for yourself why our customers rave over and crave our food. We love serving our outstanding unforgettable menu items, so you’ll want to come repeatedly!
