Gooooooooood morning. While Sunny The Weather Dog enjoys her cooling shower yesterday, Kansas City is in the midst of a major heat wave. The hottest days are likely going to be Saturday and Sunday with over 100 degrees likely this weekend. The Global Predictor that uses the Patent-Pending LRC has been showing a big drop in temperatures in time for the Monday Night Football game at Arrowhead on September 14th. Leave plenty of water for the dogs and try to get the walks in early in the day or later in the evening. Last night's episode of Big Brother was nerve wracking. I can't believe Devins volunteered to go on the block. I also can't believe Drew doesn't know what he is doing, but he is winning competitions. Yes, I am a huge Big Brother fan. Who is watching?

Goooooooooood morning. It's a major heat wave. Some will tell. you fall started September 1, but the true beginning to fall is when the sun sets at the North Pole on September 23 each year on the Autumnal Equinox. Gooooooooood morning! That big H over the southwestern United States is another "Heat Wave Creating Machine", what we call an anticyclone. An anticyclone is the exact opposite of a cyclone, or storm system. The flow around these systems is clockwise and the ai sinks underneath them. Los Angeles and much of Southern California is under an Extreme Heat Warning. Is it foggy in KC? A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect. It will burn off and get up into the middle 80s. So, maybe 86° in KC today and 104° where I grew up in the San Fernando Valley, and it's 58° in Golden where I live now, but it will get up to 85° today here. Gooooooooood Morning. Storm Chaser Jordan Hall took this video on the Big Island of Hawaii yesterday. 10-20 inches of rain fell. Tropical Storm Lala is now south of the islands and bringing heavy rain to the other islands! In KC the wind has shifted to the north and this will provide a bit cooler conditions with lower humidity.

Gooooooood morning! It will be hot out at Arrowhead for the Chiefs Preseason game. In the sun it may reach 110° today. Have you ever been to the big island of Hawaii? I have been to Kauai 6 times, but never to the big island. 25" of rain is possible on the Big Island of Hawaii in the next 24 hours. Maui may have 1 foot of rain. Flooding, wind, & high dangerous waves will create life threatening impacts from intensifying Tropical Storm Lala. Lala will likely become a hurricane later today and threaten all the islands.

Goooooooooood morning. Thunderstorms near Lansing and Leavenworth are producing downpours, some lightning & thunder, and they are drifting slowly eastward at 10 mph. If you get underneath one of these, it will produce very heavy rain. The larger area of rain to the west is also drifting east. Let me know if you get underneath one of these. Here in Golden , CO it stays extremely dry as all the thunderstorms missed this location the past few days!

There has been a lot of "hype" on the developing heat later this week. For KC it is going to get very hot, but it may not last more than a couple of days. Who is ready for fall? Extreme Heat is forecast to build over Montana & the Dakotas this weekend. This forecast map shows the outlook for Sunday at 4 PM Central Time. The heat is forecast to build into one week from now, next Monday, then back up to the western states. The east coast has gotten very wet, and it will cool off there this weekend.
