Dia de los Mu***os: La Fiesta! is BACK at Crossroads Hotel Kansas City, Preferred Boutique Hotel Partner of the Kauffman Center. Celebrated throughout Mexico and by people of Mexican heritage around the world, Dia de los Mu***os comes to the Crossroads to introduce history and cultural tradition to our neighborhood and provide a place of celebration for those who know it well.

In partnership with Mattie Rhodes Art Center & Gallery and The Museum of Kansas City, this annual fiesta is one you can’t miss.

This Oct. 30 at 6 p.m., celebrate with lively folklórico dancing, a roaming mariachi and live music from one of Kansas City’s favorite Latin bands. Enjoy alebrije puppetry, complimentary face painting for adults and grab a specialty cocktail and dish made just for the night. While you roam, enjoy browsing the goods from Hispanic makers or make a thoughtful addition to the ofrenda – our altar covered top to bottom in marigolds – to welcome back our community in spirit.

We are delighted to announce the release of our celebratory 15th anniversary merchandise. This exclusive collection includes a tote bag, mug and candle. The tote bag features the famous napkin sketch by Kauffman Center architect, Moshe Safdie. Join us for the first Kauffman Center Presents student matinee of the season with Resident Organist of Royal Albert Hall Anna Lapwood. Lapwood will play on the Julia Irene Dennie - Kauffman Casavant Organ, Opus 3875.

This custom-built instrument has 5,548 pipes, four keyboards, 79 stops and 102 ranks. In total, it is made up of over 20,000 thousand pieces, with the largest being nearly the size of a school bus! Students can experience this incredible instrument in action on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 10 a.m. in Helzberg Hall.
