MU Improv

MU Improv Mizzou's long-form improvisational troupe. Shows every Tuesday at 9 o'clock in The Shack! Its mission has been to teach and spread the art that is improvisation.

Open practices every Thursday at 7-9pm room 2206 C in the Student Center! MU Improv is the long form improv troupe at the University of Missouri which was created in 2009 by Ph.D student, Matt Fotis. It has grown immensely since its forming in 2009 and has almost tripled in size. We hold open workshops each Thursday for all University of Missouri students to attend and learn the craft. We do our b

est to create a welcoming and friendly environment for all who are interested, whether they have 10 years of experience or they’re just looking to start a new hobby. We also have weekly shows, on Tuesdays, at The Shack in the MU Student Center. Members who commit their time to regularly attending rehearsals for an entire semester are in turn invited to perform on Tuesday nights. Outside of MU we’ve participated in several other festivals and competitions for collegiate improvisers. For the past three years we have competed in the College Improv Tournament, and in 2013 sent two teams, The Best Best Friends and Dadprov, to the national tournament. This year The Best Best Friends defended their Heartland Regional title and are headed back to Chicago for Nationals on March 1st. Besides competition we have participated in festivals at Washington University in St. Louis, The Ohio State University, and The University of Southern California. We’re always looking to travel to new locations and do a set on any stage we’re invited.
