Thank you to our Jim Thorpe community for the overwhelming response to the Diligent Fire Company No. 3’s Easter Egg Hunt today. We had 40 kids last year, and planned for twice as many this year. We were met with almost three times as many kids, and unfortunately ran out of Easter baskets. We apologize for those that didn’t get one. Come back next year…. we’ll be ready! Happy Easter to all!

Dills will open 3pm on Sunday for the Cook Out race and serving variety of cook out foods. Feel free to bring your favorite picnic food. See ya’ll on Sunday while Crystal serves your favorite beverages.

We are currently experiencing a high water loss event somewhere within our distribution system, so we have reason to believe there is a significant leak somewhere, but after our crews have undergone very extensive leak detection measures, we have yet to find a promising lead.

We need to get this issue resolved as soon as possible to maintain a safe drinking water supply and fire protection for our customers, so we are respectfully requesting some assistance.

If you should notice any of the following, please contact the Lehighton Water Authority at (610) 377-1912 so we can investigate your concern. If after hours, please contact the Carbon County 911 Center at (570) 325-9111 and they will contact our on call staff.

-Lower than normal water pressure
-Cloudy or discolored water
-Unusually melted snow in your yard
-Noises, hissing, or vibrating on your home’s water service line (where it enters your home)
-Homes that you own/loved one’s homes that are vacant

We will open Sunday February 15 at 1pm for the Daytona 500. Come and watch the Big Race on our 3 Big Screen TV’s. Food and snacks will be available and feel free to bring your favorite dish.
