REMINDER: The criminal hearing of the driver Jennifer Robinson, who killed motorcyclist Ricardo Silva, Jr. making an illegal left turn into his right-of-way. The hearing is this Thursday, June 27, 2019, at 9:00 am in St. Tammany Parish Courthouse, Misdemeanor Court. I will be there with the family of the deceased Ricardo Silva, Jr. Too often these cases end up with a small fine and only if we have support for the family will justice prevail.

Please try to attend. Just your presence makes a difference. Dress appropriately for court and cell phones should be left in your car.

If anyone on a motorcycle has been not allowed to proceed on the Causeway on a motorcycle, just because you are on a motorcycle, while cars and trucks were allowed to proceed across, please contact me to sign an affidavit I will prepare for you.

The Causeway received federal funds. Under HR 2400 The Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century, they cannot discriminate against motorcycles by law. We will win this. Maryland has a 50 mph limit for motorcycles and certain container trucks. Reasonable perhaps. But the Causeway has no rules and it is illegal to stop motorcycles crossing in 15 mph winds which they are doing. This fight has just begun!

Notice of meeting of GNO ABATE today Saturday:
We will be meeting at the '360 Restaurant and Grill', 1338 W. Airline Hwy in Laplace. The restaurant opens at 11AM, we plan to start the meeting shortly afterward in the separate meeting room in the back.

Along with our usual agenda items, we will have some excellent updates on legislative bills from Glenn McGovern, as well as information on supporting more motorcycle issues.

We will also have safety reports from Harry Delaune that will benefit us all.

And, we can enjoy the great food at the restaurant.
