Right on the 39 bus route, and a short-ish walk from the Green St and Forest Hills stops on the Orange Line. Come for the questions and answers, stay for the delicious food and beverages, the camaraderie, and the handsome and talented quizmaster. Teams of up to 6 can play ABSOLUT

ELY FREE. This ain't your run-of-the-mill "bar trivia," with a bored dude reading stupid questions in between terrible songs, or with some electronic nonsense that doesn't engage the whole bar. This is nearly 70 questions every night, lovingly crafted and curated by the artisanal question-craftspeople at GWD, delivered to you with care by a local quizmaster, at the fair trade price of $0. Hey everybody. GWD announced today that all quizzes are suspended indefinitely effective immediately, for what I hope are obvious reasons. Their public announcement doesn't really get at the heart of the matter: GWD laid off all its full-time staff today and it's unclear at best whether the company will be able to recover when/if things get back to normal. If last week was the last quiz I ever host, I will be devastated but thankful that I got to do it for so long. I'm thinking of the hundreds of friends I've made at this company who I just saw last weekend in Chicago at Geek Bowl who are now out of work (part-time and full-time) but will never be without this community. I'm thinking of everyone who has ever come to a bar on a Wednesday night to hear me tell them how wrong they are over a microphone for two hours, some of whom who have done so pretty regularly for going on seven years. I'm thinking of the dozens of bartenders and servers and kitchen staff who are *much* worse off than me right now.

My personal facebook is pretty locked down privacy-wise, but if you're a quizzer and like the show and want to stay connected, drop me a message on this page and I'll send you a friend request.

Mostly I'm hoping that this isn't really the end and that the show will go on again soon. I hope I'm not fooling myself.
