👨‍🍳 What Makes a Dish a Staple?

As a chef, I’ve always wanted to create dishes that are more than just something good on a plate. I want to create something people remember, crave, and come back for.

That’s the idea behind my Carne Guisada Pot Pie — taking a comforting Texas classic and giving it my own Tex-Mex twist. 🇲🇽🤠🥧

Tender, flavorful carne guisada, rich gravy, and a golden, flaky crust… familiar enough to feel like home, but different enough to make you say, “I’ve got to have that again.”

But I want to hear from you:

👉 What does a staple dish mean to you?
Is it a dish you grew up eating?
Something your family always orders?
A dish that represents a restaurant?
Or simply something so good that you can’t imagine the menu without it?

What makes a dish become a staple in your eyes?
