Jeux de Jax is roughly French for Games of Jax. The idea of playing games ties directly into the imagination and creativity involved in all art forms. Art is a form of expression, but more than that, it is where many of us find our joy in life. To be creative we need a place where we can play freely with other creative folk. That's why the coffee shops of the renaissance became the height of cultu
ral discourse. Famous poets, writers, painters and musicians gathering to admire and discuss each other's crafts and enjoy libations and merriment. So if you are a creative soul seeking a place of openness and community, that has a space for you to express your craft or enjoy the artwork of others, and with eclectic offerings of food, coffee, beer and wine, Jeux de Jax wants you to come play with us! Our French name is a hat tip not only to one of the great cultural centers of the world, but also a nod to Jacksonville's French roots. We will have nightly events featuring local comedians, improv troupes, artists, musicians, and performers of all kinds. Also there may be a few robots there to entertain you now and then. Of course, you can't have merriment without libations. We will have an eclectic menu of food featuring a variety of cuisines and levels of your personal ideas about nutrition. Which is a fancy way of saying we will serve you vegan curry and a fried hot dog, and not raise an eyebrow. We will also have a selection of pastries, locally roasted coffee creations, craft beer and worldly wines. So whatever fuels your creative engine, you can fill up with us.
