8th Florida / 13th Indiana Living history around the Civil War era We are a group of living historians based in N.E. Florida that protray both Federal and Confederate units.

Our goal is to honor those who lived during this era. We are associated with the Department of the Gulf, part of the Florida Battalion of Infantry, which was established in 1985. Since then the Company has participated in campaigns throughout the country, portraying both Confederate and Federal units. We are a family-oriented Company, seeking camaraderie and enjoyment through reenacting and parti

A service in memory of Mark Middlebrook will take place on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 10:00 am at Palms Presbyterian Church, 3410 3rd St S, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. An interment ceremony will be held later that day at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218, at 2:30 pm. All are welcome to attend either service or both. Look forward to seeing family & friends that can make it.

Gentlemen,,
Time to gather your commands for the Garrison at Fort Clinch..This is an Battalion event and the season opener for the battalion..The Battalion will be putting on the "Dining In" ceremony again...If you desire we can do a uniform issue..Must be done as each Company.Have your men come in period civilian dress with uniforms in brown sack.. We can do this early in day..or weapon issue by company...Weapon issue was a big success with Fernandina Vols a few garrisons ago..Be prepared to do Guard Mount and NCO drill training....3 meals on Saturday and one on Sunday provided..Please inform the Adjutant at your earliest convenience with your manpower expectations...October 12&13,2019..

The picnic at Bowman residence has been set for Saturday,June22,2019...suggested arrival would be between 11 and 12..If any units wishing to drill,they may arrive earlier to avoid heat...This will be informal and all ladies and families invited..Mrs. Bowman has alot of things to sell and/or give away..These will be located in several areas around house and garages..items to include::camp clothes,camp gear,books,movies,music,boots,leather,prints,swords,photos,papers,etc.Mrs. Bowman will supply water and Yuengling Beer and of course the main course..we suggest pot luck< bring a side dish or desert>..Maybe a canvas fly or two might be handy..Dress will be modern clothes,or as you wish..Here is most important part:::3428 BOHANNON RD>. ZEPHYRHILLS ,Fl 33541.....This is easy to find,,just off Chancy Rd..Please get this out to all your men so all are invited...We will need some sort of idea on attendance so we know how much food is needed..

Company commanders take note of this announcement and start making your men aware of the changes.

In regards to Brooksville event, we will have a load and firing competition during the weekend make sure to have your men practice and perfect their loading and firing in 9 times.

Also your nomination for the Bowman Award is due that Saturday.
