We are blown away by the amount of love and support our family has received since we lost Schatzi.

Thank you to everyone who has met us with kindness, patience, grace, and love! Schatzi wasn’t just our dog. He was our family.

While we are still navigating this enormous loss, we are doing our best to get back on track with business and Oktoberfest!

Afterall, Schatzi was named after our favorite hometown bar and German beer hall. His name is German for “ Little Treasure” or “Darling”. We know this show must go on for this incredible community, and for our Schatzi!

Stay tuned for a Schatzi Party + Schatzi merch release and an adoption event in memory of him. In the meantime, please fill this little bar up with all the dog friends!

When we opened this bar, we knew we wanted to build a special kind of community. What we didn’t realize was that somewhere along the way, we’d all become a Clove Hitch family.

We don’t take that for granted for a second.

Thank you so much for all of the love and support. It has truly kept us going this week, and we can’t wait to come together with you all at our 3rd Annual Downtown Oktoberfest next weekend! 🍻

This is a post we never wanted to have to make.

Our sweet Schatzi, the Clove Hitch original, our mascot, our best friend, and such a huge part of our family, is no longer with us.

Before there was so much of what Clove Hitch has become, there was Schatzi. He was there through it all. He was more than the dog you may have seen around the bar or in our photos. He was family, and losing him has left a hole in our hearts that we’re still trying to understand.

We know we have a lot happening right now with Oktoberfest approaching, and there are messages, emails, and inquiries waiting for responses. We just ask for a little patience and grace with us over the next few days as we navigate this loss together as a family.

We will get back to everyone as soon as we can.

For now, we’re going to spend some time remembering the best boy and the friend who was there from the very beginning.

We love you forever, Schatzi.
