Let’s Meet the Staff one more time before we close for the off-season! Today we’re getting to know a tiny lady with a huge impact, Xiomara Mezak.
Q: Where are you from?
A: Piura, Peru.
Q: How long have you lived in Jackson?
A: *Blows raspberries* It’s been 9 years..or 10 years?
Q: What is your role at Local?
A: Assistant General Manager.
Q: What is your favorite dish on the menu right now?
A: The duck salad.
Q: Winter or Summer?
A: Summer.
Q: What is your favorite Summer activity?
A: Backpacking and hiking, and just literally chilling on the river!
Q: What is the first dish you remember loving?
A: Well, aji de gallina. A Peruvian dish from my Mom. It’s hard to describe…but a shredded chicken dish with yellow chili paste sauce. Oh it’s so good…I’m just thinking about it now and I’m hungry!
Q: What is your go-to dish to make at home?
A: A Peruvian chicken stew.
Q: Favorite movie?
A: Shrek 2. Or Mamma Mia. Or Devil Wears Prada…or Lord of the Rings (all three of them).
Q: What is one thing you always keep in your fridge at home?
A: Kalamata olives. I love them!
Q: What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten?
A: My dad always said to me, take care of your heart because not everyone is just like you.
