The Loft The Carriage House Cafe has now opened a bar and lounge on the 2nd floor. It is complete with a full bar, local small plates, a seasonal balcony and patio.

The Carriage House Café in Ithaca, New York, is a beautifully restored two-story carriage house with a full-service restaurant on the first floor and an events hall on the second floor, known simply as The Hayloft. Although the original 1850s structure required extensive restoration, a majority of the original material was used in the restorative process. The result is a warm, inviting location, with beautiful details and tremendous character.

***Important Update*** will be open for carry-out only! Following the CDC recommendation and state mandate, we have closed our dining room and bar until further notice. Carry-out hours will be Tue-Sun 9am-2pm. We will start with a limited brunch menu and expand if business allows—bear with us as we quickly adjust to these changes! You will be able to place orders online (link to site in our bio), by phone or in person. We have also cut down the amount of people working in the café, for now it will be our immediately family working to serve the Ithaca community.

Our Story

The Loft is located on the second floor of the beautifully restored Carriage House on Stewart Ave.

We’ve created a space where our guests could feel welcome to socialize while enjoying signature cocktails with friends after a long day. There is something wonderful about having a “third place” where you can go that isn’t home or work. The Loft is a spot that feels inviting when you walk through the doors and enjoy your surroundings, whether it be inside with the rustic wood beams or out in the patio surrounded by flowers in the garden.

Come in and select any one of our craft beers. Our list consists of breweries from all over the United States. Our carefully chosen wine selection has wines from around the world as well as the Finger Lakes wineries. On the beautiful wood shelves behind the bar you will see an array of liquors to choose from; unique scotches, bourbons, tequilas, gins and much more. Our signature Loft cocktails are made up of fresh ingredients and quality spirits, including our housemade tonic.
