Big news from the Okra Strut Commission! 🎉

We are excited to announce the 2026 Okra Strut Scholarship Recipient: Jackson S.! 🎓✨

This tradition began with the Lake Murray-Irmo Woman's Club, which originally funded this scholarship every year through their famous fried okra sales to support qualifying Irmo High School International School for the Arts and Dutch Fork High School students. Today, we are proud to keep that community spirit alive!

Jackson was selected for this honor based on his outstanding commitment to community service, impressive honors and awards, and glowing letters of recommendation. 🌟

The Okra Strut Commission will be sending this scholarship directly to Jackson’s school of choice, Wofford College, to help support his next big chapter. 🐾📚

Please join us in congratulating and wishing Jackson the absolute best of luck in his future endeavors.

The tradition continues! Applications for the 2026 Lexington Health Irmo Okra Strut are officially OPEN.

For over five decades, this festival has thrived on the passion and energy of people like you. Whether you’re a longtime resident or a first-time participant, we need your unique talents to make this year’s celebration the best one yet.

We are looking for:

💚 VOLUNTEERS: Be the heartbeat of the festival and go behind the scenes!

💚 FOOD VENDORS: Serve up your best dishes to thousands of hungry fans.

💚 EXHIBITORS: Showcase your business or handcrafted goods in our marketplace.

💚 PARADE ENTRIES: Help us kick off the fun with music, floats, and community pride!

💚 5K RUNNERS: Lace up for our Inaugural 5K Run/Walk on Saturday morning! Registration is officially live for runners and walkers of all abilities.

It takes a village to put on a show this big, and we want you to be a part of the legacy. Let’s show everyone why our community shines!
