Improv is back, baby! We're hosting auditions for the three Iowa City Improv teams Paperback Rhino, Janice, and Great White Narcs. Come on down to The Treehoude on Monday, September 13th at 7pm to audition for all the teams, or just come to watch and hang out. See you there

THIS WEEKEND!!! Our first shows of the summer are here at last! It's been a long time. Some would say too long. We're so excited to have Willow Creek Theatre Company holding these events in The Treehouse space! Make sure to go check them out and tell them we say hi.

The "Begin Again" Cabaret and 12 Hour Sketch Festival are just the beginning. There's so much cool stuff happening in your favorite dank little performing arts space. We literally cannot wait. Make sure to come to these events so that we can, y'know, pay the rent. See you all at the show! Smooches!

CALL FOR WRITERS!!!

Writers! Willow Creek Theater Company is looking for original comedy sketches for our first-ever 12-Hour Sketch Festival. If your script is selected, directors and performers will have twelve hours to get your hilarious script up on stage in front of a live enthusiastic audience! Sketches should be about five pages long and be written in a TV script or playwriting style.

OPEN AUDITIONS JUNE 18th-19th

WCTC is holding open auditions for our “Begin Again” cabaret, to be held on July 10th. This theme will focus on fresh starts and new beginnings as a kick off to our Moving Forward season.

We will be looking for around 10 acts, in ANY medium- music (solo, duet, bands), monologues or skits, poetry reading, stand-up, etc. Acts should be between 5-7 minutes, and should fit the “Begin Again” theme in a way that resonates with you. Please audition with the act you would want to perform for the cabaret.

A percentage of ticket sales the night of the performance will be split between acts.

AUDITION CALL FOR [title of show] AND Melancholy Play

Willow Creek Theatre Company will be holding virtual auditions for our upcoming Moving Forward season. These will be paid positions.
*Please note these shows will NOT be performed virtually, however we will not be performing live until it is safe to do so. Dates for both shows remain TBD

[title of show]- [title of show] follows real life composer Jeff Bowen and playwright Hunter Bell as they write the musical they are currently starring in. With the help from their friends Heidi and Susan, the group of friends discover what the process of creating a musical truly means to them.

Melancholy Play- Melancholy Play by Sarah Ruhl follows Tilly, a young woman battling depression. One day, her depression lifts and she and her friends are left to discover the sort of person she is without it. The play is poetic, nonliteral, and celebrates sadness, joy, and everything in between.
