💔Murray County is bleeding right now. I don’t even know how to find the words because it feels like no words are big enough for the kind of loss we’re carrying. In just days we’ve had to say goodbye to too many. Good, strong, salt-of-the-earth people who made this county what it is. And a sweet, innocent child who should have had their whole life ahead of them. It’s too much. It’s unfair. It’s cruel.
This week hurts in a way that makes you want to fall to your knees and ask why, God? why them? why now? The adults we’ve lost weren’t just names. They were lives woven into ours — voices we knew, smiles we depended on, hands that worked hard and hearts that gave so much. And now their spots at the table are empty. Their laughter is gone. And it aches.
And the child… there aren’t even words for that kind of pain. A child should get years and years to laugh, love and to be loved for decades, not just for a handful of precious years. Losing a child leaves a hole so big the whole community feels it. We’re crying with that family, we’re screaming inside with them, we’re shattered alongside them.
The truth is, Murray County is heartbroken. We’re raw. We’re tired of saying goodbye. We’re tired of watching families break under the weight of grief. And yet, somehow, in all this darkness, we do what we’ve always done. We show up. We wrap our arms around each other. We bring the food, we cry, we sit together in silence because sometimes silence is all we’ve got.
So if you’re hurting right now, please know you’re not alone. We all feel it. Every single one of us. Light a candle tonight. Pray if you can find the words. Cry if you can’t. Remember them — the good souls we lost this week, and that sweet child whose story ended way too soon.
It hurts like hell because they mattered. And they mattered so much that our whole county is broken without them. But what a gift it was to have loved them at all.
Tomorrow we will have a limited menu as I enjoy a day with my kids with this heavy heart. We will have two employees on staff. One cook and one bartender/waitress. So please choose kindness towards them. Life is too short so im going to sit tomorrow night out and enjoy time with my children and husband after the dinner rush.
Sending all my love
