An Update from George Munoz

Dear friends and family,

I want to share an important update about Festiva and my journey. As many of you know, I had planned to sell the restaurant last year, allowing me to step back and focus on my health. Unfortunately, during the process, the sale of Festiva fell through, and we ultimately had to close in November.

While this was not the outcome I had hoped for, I remain committed to ensuring that Festiva’s legacy is handled the right way. I have now made the decision to sell the restaurant, including the name and all assets, as is.

The past year has been full of challenges with my AML diagnosis. I am grateful to share that I am doing well after my bone marrow transplant and continuing to regain my strength every day. This journey has reinforced just how much the support of my family, my team, and this incredible community means to me.

If you or someone you know is interested in acquiring Festiva and carrying forward its legacy, please reach out to me directly.

Thank you for standing by me, for supporting Festiva over the years, and for all the encouragement you’ve shown during this time. I look forward to what’s ahead with gratitude and optimism.

With heartfelt thanks,
George Munoz

A Message from George Munoz: A New Chapter for Festiva

Dear friends and family of Festiva,

As I share this news, I’m filled with gratitude and reflection on the journey Festiva has taken over the past seven years. Running this restaurant has been transformative—not only as a chef and business owner, but as part of an incredible community that has supported us through every milestone. From the beginning, my focus has been on creating a space where people could experience the warmth and vibrancy of fine Mexican cuisine.

Over the years, Festiva has been honored to be named among the Best of Indianapolis and recognized as one of the city’s top dining spots—a true testament to our hardworking team and the support of our amazing guests. Recently, however, I made the difficult decision to sell Festiva. Serious health challenges have made me re-evaluate my focus, and I want to ensure that Festiva continues to thrive and deliver the experience you all know and love. Under new ownership, Festiva will remain in good hands, allowing our talented team to keep bringing you the best.

Our last day under my ownership will be November 9. This decision has been influenced by my health, but it’s also part of a larger plan to dedicate more time to my family and healing. While stepping back is bittersweet, I look forward to the future with all the memories and friendships Festiva has brought into my life.

Thank you for the years of support, love, and enthusiasm you’ve shown me, my family, and our team. Here’s to new beginnings for Festiva and for us all.

With heartfelt gratitude,
George Munoz

🇲🇽 ¡Viva México! 🇲🇽

La Noche del Grito – September 15, 1810

On the night of September 15, 1810, the bells rang out in the small town of Dolores, Guanajuato. But this time, it wasn’t a call to mass. Father Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla stood before the people, not to preach, but to denounce the oppression of Mexicans by the Spanish. He spoke of freedom and justice. Taking up a banner with the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe, he gave his famous cry—a cry for freedom, a cry to end slavery, a cry for independence, a cry for México.

Celebrate Mexican Independence Day with us! Our special entree is the iconic **Chile en Nogada**, traditionally served for this holiday in México. Enjoy a roasted poblano pepper stuffed with a savory blend of ground pork, beef, plantains, peaches, raisins, and olives, topped with a rich walnut-goat cheese cream sauce, pomegranate seeds, and goat cheese, served with garlicky white rice. A dish as vibrant as the holiday itself! 🇲🇽✨
