In 2006, artist Paul Villinski scavenged materials from post-Katrina New Orleans. On a concrete slab in the Lower Ninth Ward, once someone's home, he found vinyl LPs, mud-caked and warped by the sun. He cut them into black butterflies, heated the vinyl, and folded the wings into shape.

Back in his studio, he turned to his own record collection: three decades of vinyl. The result is "Anthem," 139 birds cut from vinyl LPs. A Jackson Five record sits on top of the turntable at the base, a nod to Michael Jackson's roots in Gary, Indiana.

Commissioned in 2012, "Anthem" now lives in our second-floor lounge. Come see what three decades of a record collection looks like, mid-flight.
