It's hard to see a dream not work out the way we hoped. But I am proud of the work we did here, and I'm proud we did it as us.
To my team - Hunter, Abbi, Ron, Joanie, Darcy, Carrie, Marty, and Devon (with special help at the end from Lacey!) - you all had my back until the very end. You all saw the vision, felt the connection, and did hard work of making a restaurant run. I love you all, and you all are incredible friends.
To the Indianapolis Trans & Q***r Community - Transitioning at 32 was one of the scariest things I've ever done. The uncertainty, the fear of living in a state that actively demonizes us, the fear of having an incredibly public transition having just opened a restaurant. The list goes on. I could have stayed in that place of fear and instead you gave me the comfort and support to be myself. If this had been the only thing I found this experience, then it's was worth every difficult second. I love all of you dearly, and I'm sorry for the loss of one of our safe spaces.
To our neighbors in Garfield Park - Hunter and I moved here ten years ago. We love dearly calling this place home. You have supported my crazy ideas whether that's a community brewery or an art pub, you've shown nothing but support with my transition, and you have always had our hearts and our friendship. Lauren & Danny, Callie, Cheryl, Ed, Adam & Nikki, Tony, & too many others to count - there truly is no better neighborhood in this city and it's because of you.
To our regulars - literally you all were the reason we were able to hang on as long as we did. All of you became friends and family, not just a customer. To our number one GOAT GARY - I will occasionally bring you biscuits and gravy with an over easy egg and jalapenos so you don't get any of that cheap knockoff s**t. And sure, I'll bring you a black coffee too, don't worry. To Linda and George, you are two of the warmest, kindest people I know. I will bring you salmon burgers & iced tea. There are so many more people to call out, but I'm running out of room!
We got three weeks of coursed dinners, then it's onto the next part of life! LOVE YOU ALL 🩷
