The Last Friday Night Open Mic

What a night to remember! You packed the house! So nice to see Johnny’s Place packed full (biggest Open mic night for sure) of so many amazing local talent!!
Last night was such a great turn out and boy it was emotional for me ! ❤️

I want to again tell everyone that is part of the Friday Open Mic group thank you for sharing your talent with all of us weekly. Last night was over the top with so much talent and fun. When one of your organizers approached me and said we may run late - we have 73,000 talents here tonight we may run late…. That was so nice to hear and see!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for last night! I look forward to following your performamces at other establishments.

I urge local businesses to consider open mic and open mic comedy nights. Let’s not allow these talented locals to go to far from home! They are so much fun, always a crowd pleaser and it’s so rewarding to hear so much local talent.

I will miss you but I will be in your audience ! ❤️❤️❤️

To Johnny's Place friends, loved ones, family, staff and beloved patrons:

After a very long year and some deep consideration, I am sadly announcing that Johnny's Place will be closing its doors. Our last day we will be open to the public will be January 27th, 2024.

As you know now, in late 2019 I took a leap of faith and agreed to purchase what you now know as Johnny's Place. Going into this purchase in 2020, I had someone to run the day to day operations while I continued my other career. Just like the surprise of Covid, there were changes in those original plans. With a quick pivot, I learned quickly about owning a restaurant and the forever changing industry post Covid, the unprecedented supply chain issues and the ever fluctuating product costs - it was going to be a crazy adventure. I put my everything into keeping the doors open! Four years of what I often refer to as what "Interesting books are made of". It sure has been a wild ride!!!

This last year has been extremely challenging; on top of dealing with some ongoing health issues. Facing all of this, I have made the agonizing decision to close.

I am forever grateful to the staff that has stood by my side, supported Johnny's Place with passion and determination for JP's to be a place people would enjoy.

Owning Johnny's Place has taught me a lot of valuable lessons, brought a lot of new friends into my life and forever changed me. Thank you so much for the experience Imlay City!

I am now asking for one more BIG favor- please stop in this week and get a bite to eat or a drink and say hello - Please share in my appreciation of my staff! Please come in and support and celebrate them as they all will be moving into their next adventures. Let's wish them well!
