Made a weird beer, just in time for the holidays - a Swedish glögg inspired ale, with serious notes of cardamom and hints of cinnamon and Bourbon soaked oak chips. This will be a new annual tradition, complimentary to dad's actual glögg.

Brewing an experimental beer today. Starting with a sweet stout and adding flavors that are typically used in traditional Swedish glögg. We'll see how this turns out.
Also enjoying a nice iced coffee.

Dogfish Head Raison D'etre clone is going into hibernation for a few weeks and then...
It will be fun to see if it either tastes like nothing I've had before, or like what I think I remember Raison tasting like.

Our second batch of the chocolate "coffee" stout turned out so incredibly well. I have to toot my own horn on this one. I'm going for a clone of Founder's Breakfast Stout and I'm getting closer to nailing it. Got the mouthfeel, and the flavor is close, but it's not quite there yet. Probably will only nail it with real coffee, but I can't do that. So I'll keep experimenting.

Charlie and the Chocolate Stout batch #2
Nice and dark! So far, it tastes exactly how I was hoping it would. Not bad for our first all-grain brew. Time for a nice secondary fermentation and another addition of Cacao nibs very soon.

First fully all-grain brew today. Doing an all-grain, slightly tweaked version of Charlie and the Chocolate Stout. We'll see how it turns out this time. Now to rest for a minute and start cleaning all the stuff. I have over 16 lbs of spent grain. Anyone need some?

Kegs are full, being chilled, and getting carbed.

Okay, I have to toot my own horn...kegging the chocolate stout and the Belgian trippel tonight, and both taste amazing! I'm going to get impatient waiting for them to carbonate.

I got my keezer setup, so the next pair of beers will be on tap very soon!

Super Chocolate Stout is in secondary stage. I'll soon be adding more cacao nibs for even more chocolate flavor. Can't wait to tap this one!
Hint: this one will be named after our dog Charlie.

Happy Spring!!! 🌺🐇 After a long....we mean LONG...hiatus from brewing, John and I are checking out some new recipes!!!
Our current fur kids will get their namesake brews made first. We’re hoping for a Hibiscus infused ale for our little girl, Leilani Rosa, and something fancy for our little boy, Sir Charles Boddington! ❤️
Once those are cookin’, we need more of our family and friends to send us pics of their pups!!! Who wants a custom beer recipe and bottle labels featuring their very own fur kids?? Let us know! - Amber
