👇 Learn more & join us! The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest veterans service organization, committed to m

entoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans. American Legion Baseball is one of the nation’s most successful amateur athletic programs, educating young people about the importance of sportsmanship, citizenship and fitness. The Heroes to Hometowns program connects local Legionnaires with recovering wounded warriors and their families, providing a variety of support activities. The Legion raises millions of dollars in donations at the local, state and national levels to help veterans and their families and to provide college scholarship opportunities. The American Legion is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization with great political influence perpetuated by its grass-roots involvement in the legislation process from local districts to Capitol Hill. Legionnaires’ sense of obligation to community, state and nation drives an honest advocacy for veterans in Washington. The Legion stands behind the issues most important to the nation's veterans community, backed by resolutions passed by volunteer leadership. The American Legion’s success depends entirely on active membership, participation and volunteerism. The organization belongs to the people it serves and the communities in which it thrives.

🇺🇸 June 6, 1944 — D-Day 🇺🇸

Today we remember the courage and sacrifice of the Allied forces who stormed the beaches of Normandy during World War II. Their bravery helped change the course of history and defend freedom around the world.

Huntley American Legion Post 673 honors all who served on D-Day and remembers those who gave everything for our freedom.

💙 Their legacy lives on. We will never forget.

🏆 We decided to throw our hat into the wing ring this year—and we’re proud to say we came out on top!

A huge thank you to everyone who voted for us as Best Wings on the Huntley Square! 🍗✨

We’re also grateful to the Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce for putting together such an incredible event. Not only does it bring hundreds of people to downtown Huntley, but it also shines a spotlight on our amazing local bars and restaurants while creating a fun-filled evening for the entire community.

Congratulations to all of the participating businesses, and thank you to everyone who stopped by, sampled wings, and showed their support.

We’ll be savoring this win for a while—and already looking forward to defending our title next year! 🐔🎉🍻

🏆2026 Huntley Area Chamber Wing Walk Champion🏆

Congratulations to the Huntley American Legion Post 673 - Auxiliary - SAL on being named the Wing Walk Champion at this year’s Huntley Area Chamber Wing Walk for having the most votes for the best chicken wings.

Making their first-ever appearance in the Wing Walk, the Legion staff impressed participants with chicken wings that clearly made an impact. With hundreds of attendees tasting wings from stops all around the Square, guests cast their votes and the Legion earned the top spot.

One of the things we love most about the Wing Walk is that it gives participants the opportunity to discover something new. While many know the Legion as a place that proudly serves our veterans and community, this event gave attendees a chance to experience another side of what their team can do in their kitchen!

A huge thank you goes out to all of our participating Wing Walk stops for serving 600 wings and helping make this sold-out event such a success. Every restaurant and organization brought something unique to the table, and the friendly competition is what makes the event so much fun year after year.

Congratulations again to the Legion team on an outstanding debut! We have a feeling Wing Walk participants will be hoping to see those wings make an appearance at future events. 🍗🎉

🇺🇸 The American flag is more than fabric — it’s a symbol of sacrifice, service, and freedom.

If your flag is:

🔹Faded
🔹Torn
🔹Worn

It’s important to retire it properly and respectfully.

Huntley American Legion Post 673 proudly assists with proper flag retirement to ensure Old Glory is honored with dignity.

💙 Help us show the flag the respect it deserves.

Together, we can help make sure our local veterans have the support and resources they need.

PTSD can affect veterans, service members, and their families long after military service ends. That's why the Huntley American Legion proudly supports The American Legion's Be The One initiative.

June is PTSD Awareness Month, and PTSD can affect veterans, servicemembers, and their families long after military service ends. The good news? No one has to face it alone.

That's why The American Legion's Be the One campaign encourages us all to check in, listen without judgment, and help connect those who may be struggling to the support they deserve.

You don't have to have all the answers. Sometimes, being the one who reaches out can make all the difference.
