Most current update for Coaches and
stuff for sale Friday:

On Monday of next week they will begin demolishing the building. Very likely you might drive by on Monday morning and see it, and Monday evening just see a pile of rubble being loaded into dump trucks and taken away.
My landlord, via the property manager, has told me that they will rebuild something there in the future, but not Food and Beverage, but instead retail which pays a higher rent per square foot. :-(
This translates to me as: Coaches will not be there as it has been for 25 years and three names.
Where can I go? I presently have no idea. I have watched every day on FM1960 for any space big enough to take care of my needs but have found nothing so far. I had found an excellent space directly across the street, but unfortunately there is a daycare behind that center and I cannot locate with 1,000 feet of it, a school, or a church. I inquired about the Sears building but it's half as big as I had and twice the rent.
I don't want to go east and I don't want to go west. I want to be right there where we've been.

Keep watching and don't "unfollow" us. And I will keep you posted of any news as I know it.
In the meantime, I miss everyone of you and all of my co-workers, every single day. Of the 438 days before the fire, I was there 433 days. You grew on me in a great way and my life was better for knowing you! I have still gone there most mornings to eat my breakfast on the patio just as I did most every morning for 14 months. Coaches grew on me too!

To all. An update on my co-workers as promised:
Katie (Wed/Thur/Sun daytime bartender) and Michelle (Sun/Wed/Sat nighttime bartender) are relocated at Shamrocks. Rachel (Mon/Tue/Fri/Sat daytime bartender) is not relocated yet in the the industry but spending her time managing her business and making zillions of folks smile with her snow cones. Chloe (Tue/Wed/Thur/Fri night time server) is relocated to Barney's, along with Kass who I still miss. Lynde (Friday night and part time bartender and most-excellent 30-steaks-at-a-time-perfect cook) is relocated to The Field House. Brandon (Mon/Tue/Thur/Fri night time bartender mgr) and Katie Rae (Mon/Thur/Sat night time server) are both taking a break from the industry and pursuing some other opportunities. I've not heard from Tristan yet.
Until the landlord's insurance company finishes their inspection, I have no word on reopening but can't imagine that it would be before next year.
I will update here as I know anything.
I've heard that Rusty Nail, two blocks west of Coaches, now has free poker?

To all our friends and customers. If you haven't heard, we had a fire today at Coaches. It was devastating and total. It was incredible to see the force from it from 15 minutes. It got very big, very hot, very fast and destroyed most everything . . except the pool tables.
I am overwhelmed but not distraught. I am outscored but not defeated. I've had better days, but also overcome worse. I am downtrodden, but not destroyed. Events like this can break me or make me. I will choose the latter.
No one was in the building at the time, nor hurt. I am most grateful for that. The stuff can all be replaced. There were 2 firefighters taken to the hospital for treatment, I've heard they will be fine. I was also told that others had gone inside the building to try and find me, because someone had told them it was my car parked outside. Though not there, I will be eternally grateful to these responders for making sure I was not inside. Whatever those people get paid, is not enough. And in the case of the Atascocita fire department, they volunteer. I cannot think of a way to adequately thank them, and the neighboring departments that helped them.
The building itself was damaged completely and the iron roof beams were buckled. I cannot speak for the building owner, my landlord, but assume the present building will have to be torn down. I will let you know, when I know. For now, we have secured it with a fence around the property because it is not even safe to walk in.
When can we reopen? I cannot say. But certainly not soon enough for football next month or our Astros going to the playoffs? :-(
I have owned the club for 1 year, 2 months and 21 days. When I came we had almost 4,000 of you fine people following us here, and today it's almost 4,400. I thank each of you for the support during my time. And this is obviously the medium to stay in touch with you, and I will.

In closing, I have remembered all day long a photo I saw years ago from the Tornado that wiped out 1/3 of Joplin Missouri in 20 minutes. There was a lot that had a foundation on it only. The house that was there the day before was completely gone and everything in it.

But in the front yard the owner had taken a sign and put in the ground that said
We do still have HOPE.

ps. And while it could be months before we could reopen, I cannot expect my friends and co-workers to sit on their laurels waiting. I know that you've grown to love them as I have and when I find out where any have "nested" for the time being, I will post it here for you to still be able to see them.

6/23/19. My daughter and I were just chilling. Saw this place and decided to have a drink. Best call ever! Bartender said she was a fill in, but she was great! Will be back for some more day drinking!!

We had a fabulous birthday party here last night with a full dance floor until closing. Do you have a birthday coming up? If you tell your friends it's at Coaches Parroteyes, you'll have many show up and wish you well. Birthday parties are great for everyone. And recent scientific studies have shown that folks who have many of them tend to live longer! :-) :-) :-)
