Starting seedlings daily for succession planting. Today is three types of dusty miller. I fill this 90 gallon toter with my soil mix. Add a mud pan on over the top and use it as a tray to fill cells with soil. It’s the perfect height for me, especially with these itty bitty seeds.

Last Kiva post - we have 6 days and 1900 dollars left to raise.

August is Black Business Month. Black female startup founders receive less than half of one percent of the total venture capital spent in the U.S. annually. Supporting Black-owned businesses throughout the year can help stabilize a community and create more opportunities for meaningful savings, property ownership, credit building, and generational wealth. It is important to be intentional about providing support year round.

I’m fundraising on Kiva for a business loan. And we're over 80% there. This loan will enable me to ramp up production and revamp my website.

I’d really appreciate your support in this campaign. This is not a donation: your money will be returned as I pay back my loan. These loans are 0% interest, and each contribution can be as small as $25. Or gather your work team and donate up to $500.

You can make a loan by accessing my loan page via this link:

I sincerely appreciate your support. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Many thanks,

LaShan

Tonight we talk Mezcal. I love a good story and this one is my favorite kind; a love story... In most cases, there are multiple versions of a myth, such as this one about the origins of the Agave.

Long ago, a young and very beautiful Goddess lived. Her name was Mayahuel, the goddess of fertility. She was a beauty, but was secluded in a far corner of the universe by her jealous an possessive grandmother, Tzitzímitl. Young Mayahuel longed for love and escape from her grandmother's prison. She sat at the edge of a cloud every night and sang her siren song.

A god heard her song on the wind and he followed the sound until he found the source, Mayahuel. I've seen this god listed under many names; but no matter his name, they fell in love and ran away together. They are said to have 400 offspring n the form of drunken rabbits.

Tzitzímitl was enraged but knew she couldn't stop the star crossed lovers. So she killed Mayahuel. In her final resting spot a Maguey sprouted. It was so beautiful it overwhelmed the Aztecs when they saw it. Mayahuel was reborn as the Maguey (Agave).
