The year 1972 ushered in Liza Minnelli’s Oscar winning performance in Cabaret, the technology breakthrough of Atari’s “PONG,” and the introduction of Hamburger Mary’s to the SoMa district of San Francisco. The original Hamburger Mary’s was a funky, friendly dive put together on a shoe-string budget. With humble beginnings as an eclectic late-night beer and burger joint, Hamburger Mary’s quickly es

tablished itself as a staple in the LGBT community. The mismatched flatware & dishes, kooky artwork and antiques added to the kitsch and charm of the place. It was an “open-air bar and grille for open-minded people” (a motto we still use today), where everyone was welcome. The staff was always friendly and personable, and the food was always fresh and made-to-order. Before long, a second location was opened in Hawaii, then other locations started popping up. owners, while others were granted licensing agreements to use the name. There were even a few “copy cats.” Collectively, this was the beginning of what has become the Hamburger Mary’s franchise system today.

To the fabulous queens who devoted their time to show what Hamburger Mary's is known for (fabulous drag), thank you for being super stars!
To all of our supporters, we thank you for your donations and the love and support you showed all of us.

We are happy to announce that the 8PM benifit show for Kristi and Nanci has officially sold out! With that being said we have added a 6PM show for next Thursday!

Here at Hamburger Mary’s Houston we want our guest to enjoy their time at our shows, no matter what the occasion. We like to allow guest to come in, let their hair down, and forget about whatever they have going on in their personal life. Kristi and Nanci are the teachers, not only children, but the whole world deserves!
Unfortunately, they are no longer employed due to attending our show, but that won’t stop us from showing our love and passion for the art form of drag! Join us Thursday August 3rd, to help raise money for Kristi, Nanci, and their families, but to also help raise awareness that drag queens and the LGBTQIA+ community are not bad people. We accept and love everyone!

Here at Hamburger Mary’s Houston we want our guests to enjoy their time at our shows, no matter what the occasion. We want our guests to come in, let their hair down, and forget about whatever they have going on in their personal life.
