Proud To Be A Part of Downtown

On April 3, 2017 we opened the 8th St Cafe as a place for people to go have lunch. We set it up to be as expedited as possible by having customers place their order before seating and giving them numbers so employees could bring their food to the table. Although we have a self-serve station for drinks, within a couple of months we added a server that can get refills or anything else the customer may need. We called it the 8th St Cafe because it is on 8th St and because we thought it would be more appealing to a wider audience for lunch than a Tavern. We worked hard to get the front ready to open before the BIG ECLIPSE and we made it, opening Main St Tavern Restaurant on July 14, 2017. The name is slightly misleading as we are a family friendly restaurant that has a bar in it- much like the restaurants the town has had for quite a while. There are times that we have 21+ Events but we announce them ahead of time and that is not the norm. In the Main St Tavern Restaurant we offer a variety of entertainment with Thursday’s Downtown Trivia, Friday’s LIVE Music & Saturday Night Karaoke. We have also hosted Karaoke Superstar Contests with another coming soon. The Main St Tavern Restaurant has also been honored to bring back to town an amazing local tradition BUD BASH the day after Thanksgiving. So, we had 2 unique locations but served the same Fabulous Food at both. We got a lot of feedback and the consensus was that we had an identity crisis because of the different names and locations. We also felt we had been here long enough for people to understand that we are first and foremost a restaurant, so on June 12, 2018 we decided to say GOODBYE to the 8th St Cafe and began opening Main St Tavern Restaurant for lunch as well as dinner. We will still feature Brick Oven Pizzas and Calzones, Cauliflower Crust Pizza, Homemade Desserts and many other fabulous dishes. We plan to continue to grow and improve. We love being a part of the Historic Downtown area of Hopkinsville. When we first arrived downtown, we had no idea the amount of amazing businesses that were already here and have been very happy to see even more open. “Back in the day” downtown was the “Place to Go” and it is our goal to make that the “norm” again by working with and cross promoting these amazing gems and help raise awareness as to what downtown Hopkinsville has to offer. In the Fall 2017 year we opened the adjoining space next to the Tavern as an event rental hall. Since then we have hosted numerous Parties, Dinners, Receptions, Reunions and Weddings. We also renting out the Cafe Dining Room in the evening for smaller events and meetings. We currently have a Game Room in the rear of the building where the 8th St Cafe dining room was located. The have multiple pool tables and video games. This building is over 120 years old and still has so much life in it. We hope to continue to serve this amazing community for many years to come.
