Tammy and I would like to take a brief moment away from our focus on the recovery efforts at the pub (which you will notice that the roof replacement is well underway... woo hoo!) to recognize a special moment in our personal lives away from the pub. On March 11th, the night of a windstorm that hit pockets of our area, we were packing to head out of town for few days when we suddenly hear a tree crash onto our home. Preparing to leave the next morning to visit some family and attend the Bar & Restaurant Show to learn about ways to hopefully improve the pub during our remodel, we were left to wonder how much more could we possibly take on during this figurative storm surrounding our lives personally, professionally and spiritually.
The next morning, after reviewing the possible damage, we reached out to our great friend, Mark McDougall, letting him know that we were probably needing to cancel our trip so we could deal with two fallen trees... one on our house and one on our mailbox, both in two totally different areas of our property and nothing else down anywhere around us. It all seemed so overwhelming, but he encouraged us to go as planned and that he would handle it... and handle it he did!
By the time our flight landed that afternoon, LCMC had helped remove the tree on our mailbox and we were introduced to and learned about the highly responsive and superior capabilties the amazing people at Womer's Tree Service had to offer, who had already removed the tree (without any additional damage to any other structures), cut it up and cleaned up the property before we touched down. Another amazing community partner revealed to us in our time of need. We cannot speak highly enough about them as people and as a company... check them out at https://www.facebook.com/share/18AXXAizj1/ or www.womerstreeservice.com.
Thanks to their support, were able to visit family, friends and attend a business expo without a single worry about what just happened at home. It is hard to imagine why everyone would not want to live in a community like Hoodsport, where everyone treats each other like family!
Thank you Mark McDougall for everything you have done in the past to help us buy and transition into the Model T, not to mention, your continued friendship and support you have offered us through the unprecedented sense of urgency to rebuild the pub and help connect us to the Womer's at our home!
Thank you Sam Womer for the quick, extremely efficient and professional services you and your team offered us so we could come back to a sense of peace and get back to work on the pub and keep our focus on the support of our staff as we get through this final leg of the recovery... WE APPRECIATE IT MORE THAN WORDS CAN SAY!
