LAST FEW TABLES!

Wanna own a piece of Northern Soul’s history?
Sadly our beloved NoSo has closed its doors, for now, but here’s your chance to bring home some of the literal furniture! These epoxy resined, hand painted tables tops, were a big hit and part of NoSo’s charm and identity. They filled the bar with character and visual punches to complement the characters and punches who dwelled within! Painted by me, an Irish nomad called Mark Hamilton who was asked by owner, Rusty, another Irish nomad, to decorate the bar when it moved to the Skyclub. I was taught and helped by the late Joe Wood to encase the art in hard resin to protect them from NoSo’s late night shenanigans. Spark memories of the best nights ever, in the greatest bar Hoboken’s ever known.

Table dimensions are listed below:
Each table top comes with an optional cast iron stand. These are very heavy and can be delivered free anywhere in the Hoboken, Jersey City area. Arrangements for further afield can be discussed in DMs.
Alternatively the table tops can be hung on a wall for display.

Whether as a present for a fellow NoSo regular, or to spark nostalgia joy for yourself. Now’s the chance to grab one, or more of these unique pieces of Hoboken’s cultural history.

Summer Sabbatical 😎
This is our last wkd, let’s make it count 🥳 As you might of already heard, our building needs some repairs and we have been forced to close our doors while they are completed. It hasn’t been an easy few weeks, we tried our upmost to find a resolution but the powers that be left us with no other option.

We want to apologize to our customers who have been inconvenienced with all this, unfortunately it is very much out of our control.

We want to thank everybody for all the love and support and hope to see you for one last drink before we go on our summer sabbatical 🤣☀️😭

** ANNOUNCEMENT **
You’d think we’d be used to these after the last 17 years but here we go again … We have been told by our building MGMT that they need to do emergency repairs to the driveway, facade and footpaths of the SkyClub. We have been instructed to remove our patio by June 1st, as of today there is no official plan in place to provide the restaurant with proper egress, essentially we will be forced to close our doors while the construction is completed. We have been working diligently for the last few weeks with both the building and landlord to avoid closing, we tried every avenue we could think of but there doesn’t seem to be a way around this. We held off on this announcement for as long as possible to see if a solution would present itself, but with only 3 weeks left until the end of the month, we cannot morally continue ‘business as usual’ not knowing what the place will even look like next month. Obviously our main concern right now is our staff and customers, we will be reaching out to anybody that has parties booked with us to try and accommodate them as best as possible.

The SkyClub has been a great location the past 7 years, our commitment to serving the 4th ward has never been stronger, we carved out our own little niche back here. Obviously a business closing and then trying to reopen costs a lot of money, we’re told the project should be completed in ‘around’ 4 months, as of right now our insurance company has denied our claim for business interruption. This puts us in a very difficult position, the business cannot afford to take on anymore debt. We’ve fought through our fair share of battles over the years, hurricanes, unlawful evictions, pandemics, you name it, we’ve got the t-shirt!

It’s been a rollercoaster since we found out, nothing about any of this has been straightforward, one way or another we hope to be back in business as soon as possible. In the meantime we will do our best to update everyone, we still have at least 3 weeks left at 700 1st Street and a ton of alcohol to drink so don’t be a stranger 🍻 We wanna thank everyone for the continued support, it’s sincerely appreciated!

Starting this morning we’re serving ‘REAL’ Irish food including McGonigle Guinness stew, full Irish breakfast (all day & night) plus Bangers & Mash 🇮🇪 Of course there will be plenty of Pints and Whiskey on special to wash it all down. We’ll have the best Irish tunes and tons of free swag all wkd long, the craic will be 90

Shane MacGowan was a once in a lifetime talent, a true punk poet, very much the last of a dying breed! When we first opened NoSo in 2008, we commissioned a super talented Manchester artist to paint some of our favorite childhood icons for the walls, Shane has been front and center every step of the way since 🤍 “Fairytale of New York” will be on repeat for the foreseeable future
