📣📣📣Calling all Summers County Comprehensive High School seniors.

Applications are now open for the 2027 Most Valuable Student Scholarship through the Elks National Foundation. Students who enter must plan on attending a 4-year college or university. Submitting your application through the site listed below will ALSO automatically enter you for the local scholarship given by the Hinton Elks Lodge #821.

For students furthering their education through a vocational program, you may pick up a 📝 paper application from your SCCHS guidance counselor, Kimberly Cox, and submitting it prior to the below deadline. The Hinton Elks Lodge #821 proudly supports students who seek a career through vocational education and will award a limited number of scholarship monies for deserving youth who apply.

Hinton Elks, the WV Water Festival Committee is in need of some volunteers to help man the bouncy houses at the Memorial Building grounds on Thursday and Friday. We need 2 people for the 11-3 shift and one person for the 3-7 shift both days. If you are interested in logging some charitable service hours on behalf of the lodge, please let me know. It's an easy gig that just requires a couple of adults to ensure the kids are playing safely and the equipment doesn't get overloaded with too many bouncers. This is a great way for us to contribute to community events and help ensure they continue. Elks Care, Elks Share!

The WV Senior Elks Tournament is getting closer! If you haven't yet registered, please do so as soon as possible! We've got some great home cooked meals planned for you all on Friday and Saturday evenings and need to plan accordingly for how many we will be serving. We look forward to seeing Elks from all over WV in Hinton to celebrate this long standing tradition at our lodge!
