In short, to make outstanding beer. The World's First Seasonal-Only Brewery
We believe that what people like to drink changes depending on the time of year, the type of foods that are available in local markets, the weather, and even their moods. We're striving to provide a seasonal selection that is always fresh and always reflects what drinkers look for at each turn of the season. Rustic & Artis

We don't filter our beer and we don't pasteurize. Everything that goes into our product is natural. You're getting a live product that's as close to the original ingredients as we can get to you. We're Big Beer Nerds
Every beer at Mystery is brewed by a Certified Cicerone, the beer equivalent of a sommelier. We have a robust lab and quality assurance program in place, and we pass every beer through a tasting panel to make sure everything you get is the best it possibly can be. Our Brewery is open for tours every Saturday at 1p and 3p. No reservation necessary! Our Public House is open 7 days a week, just around the corner from the brewery. 230 S. Nash Street, Hillsborough, NC.

Today, we’re sharing sad news. After almost seven years, Mystery Brewing Company will be closing its doors at the end of the day on October 31st.

This has been an incredibly difficult decision. We’ve always been undercapitalized, and it’s been a struggle to operate for some time now. We’ve suffered a string of pretty bad luck over the past couple of years: equipment failures, construction and permitting delays, storm-related outages and losses. The end result is that we can no longer afford to operate.

Over the course of the next week, we’ll be doing the best we can to celebrate everything we love about Mystery to give it a fond farewell, releasing some favorite old beers that we’ve had kicking around in the back of the cooler, and trying to say goodbye the best way we can. If you get a chance, please come and visit us, say hi, and enjoy a pint, a meal, or a night of music for the last time. The Wiley Fosters – our amazing house band – will be playing our last show at the pub on the evening of October 27th.

We’re enormously proud of the community that has grown up around Mystery, and we’ll miss being here every day for Hillsborough.

With one last raised glass,

Erik Lars Myers
Founder, Brewer, CEO

It’s a soup & sandwich kind of day. Head to Mystery Brewing Public House for our Short Rib & Pumpkin Cassoulet with white beans, tomatoes, herbs, and leeks. We also have five sandwiches on the October menu including the Edamame Pate with local sprouts, cucumbers, roasted peppers, arugula, and herb aioli on sourdough. We had to postpone the Paws Pints & Pups! (Cancelled: To Be Rescheduled) event due to weather, but the Pub is still open all day! Live music from Juliana Finch at Mystery Brewing tonight at 8:30 PM! See you in .
