At the end of May we decided to take the leap after years of talking about it and at least one year of serious consideration and bought our small town bar. Two weeks in and right before our town celebration my husband suffered an accident that left him with a broken hip and a pretty seriously broken arm. We made it through our first Old Settler's weekend as new business owners thanks to so much help and support from our family and friends. Thinking things are about to smooth out and become more routine now..... boy were we wrong!
Hardly a week later we were woken up by severe weather alarms and rushed our little family to the basement. Not knowing that when we came back up not only our lives but our whole town would be upside down. 131 mile per hour straight line winds hit our little town. Leaving it almost unrecognizable. Fortunately everyone in town was somehow safe and unharmed.
Our bar (along with our house and vehicles) on the other hand where not so fortunate. After a little over a month of owning and rebranding Chevy's Bar & Grill LLC, we are closed until further notice due to severe structural damage.
Within our month of operation we have been working hard at renovations and improvements. Even though we are not able to operate currently, the bills for these previous improvements are still coming in. Without continued revenue we will need some help to stay afloat while we get things figured out for the future of the bar. We fully intend on re opening, but we're going to need a little help to get us through to that point.
We have been so exceptionally fortunate to have the support we do from our family, friends, neighbors, our community and the surrounding from opening day thus far. We are so thankful for help in any way possible even if it's just a spare prayer.
