🎶 FIRST TIME AT THE ANGUS! 🎶

Help us give a warm Angus welcome to David Porter, making his debut on our stage this Friday night! 🎤

Originally from Lenoir, NC, David’s musical journey has taken him everywhere from Charlotte and High Point to Austin, Texas, and Hilton Head Island before eventually finding his way back home to the foothills. A self-taught guitarist who has been performing since high school, David began playing full-time in 2017 and has since performed nearly 1,000 shows, averaging over 100 performances each year.

David specializes in classic acoustic folk rock and pop, mixed with country favorites and original music. Influenced by legendary songwriters and performers like James Taylor, Dan Fogelberg, Harry Chapin, Paul Simon, and more, his shows are packed with songs people know and love. In fact, with a repertoire of nearly 400 songs played entirely by memory, audience requests are a huge part of the experience.

From John Denver and The Eagles to Pink Floyd and Kenny Chesney, you never know what musical direction the evening might take. One thing is certain: there will be plenty of opportunities to sing along, tap your feet, and enjoy a night of incredible live music. Songs like “Drift Away” and “Seven Bridges Road” are always crowd favorites and are sure to have the room singing along.

And because we love sharing a little about the people behind the music, here’s a fun fact: David was actually born in Alaska and, despite being left-handed, somehow learned to play guitar right-handed!

So come out Friday night, help us welcome David to the Angus family, support your local musicians and locally owned restaurants, and enjoy a great meal while you’re here 😊

Today, we’re asking for prayers. 🤍

Many of you know that my mom was recently diagnosed with cancer. Today is the day of her surgery, and the doctors are going in with the hope of removing all of it.

It’s expected to be a rather difficult surgery and will likely last around six hours. Once it’s over, we should know much more — including whether they were able to remove all of the cancer, what stage it is, and what the treatment plan will look like moving forward.

As a family, we’re putting our faith and trust in God, as well as in the hands of the doctors and nurses caring for her today. We ask that you please lift Mom and our family up in prayer, or send every positive thought and good vibe our way that you can. It would mean more than words could ever express.

If there’s one thing we know for certain, it’s that my mom is a fighter. She has faced more than most people could ever imagine, and she continues to meet every challenge with strength, determination, and grace.

Thank you all for the love, prayers, and support you’ve shown our family. We feel every bit of it. 🤍

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
— Joshua 1:9

🍒 Cherry Butternut Pound Cake 🍒

Okay, Angus family… we need your help.

Our Blueberry Lemon Pound Cake became such a fan favorite that nobody has given this week’s special a fair chance yet.

Introducing our Cherry Butternut Pound Cake, topped with homemade maraschino cherry icing.

Now, traditionally, pound cake is simple. But if you’ve been around The Angus very long, you know we don’t do “ordinary” very well. We like to take classic recipes and give them a little Angus twist—extra flavor, extra love, and definitely no dry cake around here.

This one is rich, buttery, moist, and topped with a sweet homemade maraschino cherry icing that makes every bite taste like dessert should.

So here’s the deal:

The sooner you help us find this cake a good home, the sooner the crowd-favorite Blueberry Lemon Pound Cake can make its triumphant return. 😄

But let’s be honest…

Blueberry Lemon has a waiting list.

Cherry Butternut hasn’t even gotten a first date yet.

Come give it a chance before you decide who’s your favorite.

Grab a slice while supplies last and let us know what you think. You just might discover a new favorite 😉

🎶 THIS FRIDAY NIGHT 🎶

We’re excited to welcome Adam Rose back to the Angus stage this Friday, May 29th! 🎤

Adam has become one of those artists our crowd genuinely loves having back. He brings the perfect mix of soulful vocals, familiar favorites, laid-back energy, and the kind of music that makes you want to grab a drink, order some good food, and stay awhile.

Every time Adam plays at the Angus, the atmosphere just feels easy and welcoming — the kind of night where people are singing along, relaxing with friends and family, and simply enjoying being together. That’s what live music at the Angus has always been about.

And now more than ever, supporting local matters. When you come out for nights like these, you’re supporting local musicians, locally owned restaurants, and the people in this community who work hard every single day to keep places like this alive and thriving.

So make plans to join us Friday night, welcome Adam back to the Angus, enjoy some incredible live music, and come hungry because we’ll have the food hot and ready waiting on you. 🥩🔥

Let’s love on one of our own. ❤️

Anyone who knows Brailye knows and loves Brailye.

Brailye has been part of The Angus family longer than anyone currently out front, and to so many of us, she is far more than an employee — she is family. I personally consider her a sister, and anyone who has ever met her knows she has one of the kindest hearts you could ever encounter.

One thing about Brailye is that she never asks for anything. In all her years at The Angus, not once has she ever asked anyone for help. That’s exactly why we’re asking now.

Brailye has started a GoFundMe to help her grandmother with some much-needed expenses, including a washer and dryer. Her grandmother is an incredibly sweet and deserving woman, and a huge part of the reason Brailye grew into the loving, selfless person she is today.

As many of you know, Brailye also recently welcomed her third baby into the world, and while she has done everything she possibly can to help on her own, babies are expensive, and life can be hard sometimes.

We know times are difficult for many people right now, and we completely understand if giving isn’t possible. But if you do have anything at all to spare, we would be so grateful if you would consider donating to help Brailye’s grandmother during this time.

Thank you all for always loving our Angus family the way you do.

Because at the end of the day, community is what carries people through the hard times — and Angus people are good people.

🎶 LIVE MUSIC TODAY AT THE ANGUS 🎶

Today, Saturday, May 23rd, we’re excited to welcome back a duo that many of you have truly come to know and love — our house musician, Chris Day, joined once again by his longtime friend and incredibly talented musician, Robert Kearns.

Chris has become such a big part of the Angus atmosphere over the years, and anytime Robert joins him, you know you’re in for a great evening of music, laughs, and good vibes all around. The two of them together make for an incredible duo and always help set the tone for a fun Saturday night.

So come on out, grab a good meal, enjoy some live music, and help support your local musicians and local restaurants 🤍

🚨🎂 TODAY’S MISSION AT THE ANGUS: OPERATION CONFUSE JOSH 🎂🚨

This is Josh’s birthday weekend, and we need everybody’s help making his entire weekend awkward, hilarious, and unforgettable. 😂

If you come eat with us today and see Josh, your mission is to casually hit him with one completely random compliment, weird observation, or birthday greeting… then walk away like nothing happened.

Some examples:
• “Josh, you are aging like a fine wine.”
• “Wow. Incredible birthday posture.”
• “You’ve really matured into your forehead.”
• “You just look… experienced.”
• “Are you Kaley’s dad?” 😂
• “Those are leadership shoes.”
• “You have the energy of a man who owns a smoker.”
• “Happy birthday, king.”
• “You look strangely youthful today.”
• “Honestly, Josh… radiant.”

OR BETTER YET… make up your own. The more random, specific, and confusing, the better. 🤣

Bonus points if you say it completely seriously and refuse to explain yourself afterward.

Anybody who knows Josh knows he loves joking around and cutting up with people, so let’s make sure he feels all the love from his Angus family today. ❤️

Come eat, have a great time, and help us thoroughly confuse the birthday boy all day long. 😂

Great food, great music, great people… and apparently great skincare too.

Happy Birthday to my baby 🤍🎉

And from all of us here at The Angus Steakhouse — Happy Birthday, Josh! 💛

There truly are not enough words to describe how much this man means to this place and to the people inside of it.

If you know Josh, then you already know 😂 — whether he’s making everybody laugh, passionately handling “Josh business,” jumping in wherever needed, keeping things running behind the scenes, or having one of his famous little moments, he brings so much life, personality, heart, and energy into the Angus every single day.

The truth is, the Angus would not be what it is without him.

He is deeply loved not only by me, but by our entire Angus family and so many customers who have become family over the years. He works harder than anyone realizes, and no matter what is going on, he continues showing up for this restaurant and the people in it every single day.

And personally, I truly don’t know what I would’ve done through some of the hardest seasons of my life without him standing beside me every step of the way. He has been my rock, my peace, my laughter, my teammate, and my best friend through all of it.

So this weekend, if you see Josh, make sure to wish him a Happy Birthday and remind him just how loved and appreciated he really is. Come hang out with us Friday or Saturday night, grab a steak, listen to some great music, and help us celebrate one of the best people we know. 🤍

Happy Birthday, baby.
We love ya, Peckerhead 💛

🎶 THIS FRIDAY NIGHT 🎶

We’re excited to welcome Phillip Page back to the Angus stage this Friday, May 22nd! 🎤

Right out of Granite Falls, NC, Phillip has quickly become one of those artists people genuinely look forward to seeing back at the Angus. His mix of acoustic country, southern rock favorites, and heartfelt originals creates the perfect atmosphere for a Friday night — laid-back, welcoming, and full of good energy.

Inspired by artists like Zach Bryan, Larry Fleet, Hank Jr., Turnpike Troubadours, and Chris Knight, Phillip brings a little bit of everything to the stage. He loves taking requests, reading the crowd, and mixing in his own original songs that carry real meaning and pieces of his own life story.

One thing we especially love about Phillip, though, is that he’s just a genuinely good, humble person. The kind of person who’s easy to root for. He’s talented, kind, down-to-earth, and exactly the type of artist we love supporting at the Angus.

Whether he’s getting the crowd singing along to “Family Tradition” or slowing things down with one of his originals, he has a way of making people feel connected to the music and to the moment.

So come out Friday night, support your local musicians and your locally owned restaurants, enjoy some incredible food, and spend the evening with us.

As always —

🎶 THIS SATURDAY NIGHT 🎶

Usually Saturdays belong to our house musician Chris Day — but this week, we’re excited to welcome someone new to the Angus stage for the very first time… help us give a warm Angus welcome to Blake Breedlove! 🎤🔥

Right out of Hickory, NC, Blake has been playing music for nearly 20 years, blending together a sound rooted in blues rock, country, and singer-songwriter storytelling. Influenced by artists like Eric Church, Chris Stapleton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers, and Merle Haggard, his music brings a little bit of everything — from laid-back acoustic moments to high-energy crowd favorites.

One thing Blake loves most? Connecting with the crowd. He’s all about taking requests, reading the room, and making sure everyone has a great time. And when songs like “Friends in Low Places,” “Family Tradition,” or “You Never Called Me By My Name” come on… you can definitely expect some singalongs. 🎶

Music has always been a huge part of Blake’s life. Inspired by his dad’s love for music, he taught himself guitar and piano and built his own style from the ground up. Outside of music, he’s also a huge baseball fan and youth coach — proof that supporting local talent means supporting people who pour back into their community in more ways than one.

So come out Saturday night, help us welcome Blake to the Angus family, support your local musicians and your locally owned restaurants, and enjoy a night full of good food, good music, and good people.

As always —
great food, great music, great people. 🥩🎸❤️
