The Folk Club proudly presents April Mae & The June Bugs in concert on Tue Jan 20 2026 at 7 PM. They're bringing their roots-filled boogie with a dynamic mix of high-energy Americana and an expansive breadth of genre-bending stylings. Their dynamic live performances and infectious enthusiasm create an electric atmosphere that has made them a must-see act.
The show is at Amphora’s Diner Deluxe, 1151 Elden St, Herndon, VA. Tickets available at the door, with a suggested donation of $20 (Folk Club members) or $25 (non-members).

This Tuesday, December 16th it's the Folk Club's Annual Holiday Party, 7 PM at the Amphora Deluxe Diner! The usual $1 cover charge will be waived. Consider bringing gift-wrapped CDs for a holiday exchange: We’ll have elves on hand to help disseminate. And, look forward to delicious, complimentary cake. To provide everyone with a chance to perform during this special evening, musicians are welcome to sign up for a one-song, four- minute slot, round-robin style. Hope to see you, tuned-up merry and bright!

Concert – The Furnace Mountain Trio, named for a mountain near where band members grew up, consists of innovative and gifted Virginia musicians. The band consists of Aimee Curl on bass and vocals, Dave Van Deventer on fiddle and vocals, and Morgan Morrison on guitar, bouzouki, and vocals. The band creates music that is at times lively and raucous, with spirited fiddle melodies weaving in and around the powerful rhythms of the bass and bouzouki, and other times poignant and poetic, with sublime vocal harmonies beautifully interpreting some of the oldest songs ever written.Tuesday, November 18th - Tickets $20/$15 for members (requested donation).

Concert – Rachel Sumner & Traveling Light (a 2025 Telluride Bluegrass Band Contest Winner - see pic) are a Boston-based string band making music that blends folk tradition with feminist storytelling, poetic detail, and a bit of grit. Rachel Sumner’s songwriting is rooted in history, myth, and personal reckoning. She was a winner of the Kerrville New Folk competition in 2024. The trio features Kat Wallace on fiddle and vocals, Mike Siegel on upright bass and vocals, and their sound is spare and intimate, sometimes eerie, sometimes sweet, always intentional. They call it Femericana - sharp-edged Americana with a splash of feminine rage. Tuesday, September 16th - Tickets $25/$20 (requested donation).

We're having one of our theme nights on Tuesday, August 19th: Movie Music. We hope performers can take their music from the movies (but it's not required). Pick out songs made famous by a film, or songs that made a film famous! Let’s see what we have from the golden age of musicals to the films of today. Maybe Mrs. Robinson will show up, or the Midnight Cowboy will have us talkin’ about him. The more agile among us could even do the Time Warp – again!
