Weekday Private Tastings By Appointment. Spirits Also Available At Retailers Near You! We're a small-batch craft spirits distillery in the heart of historic downtown Hermann. Operating since August 2017. Nestled in on the Missouri riverfront in our restored and renovated 1867 building, we follow our passion to produce hand-made, Missouri craft spirits. We also house an full upscale bar and small plate restaurant serving artisan cocktails and delicious fare, and a luxury private event venue - The Loft - in our second story. Follow your Fernweh to our door, and discover our passion for creating fine spirits for yourself. As of May 2021, we are able to accommodate groups of up to 6 guests. Groups larger than 6 guests will want to inquire for reservation to see how we might best be able to accommodate them. Inquire about reservations for libations and fare at [email protected].

We don't just put wh***ey in a barrel and forget about it.

There's a lot happening between filling a barrel and eventually putting that wh***ey in a bottle. We keep an eye on what's aging, what's changing, and where each barrel is headed.

Because even when two barrels start with the same wh***ey, they don't always end up exactly the same.

That's part of the fun of making wh***ey. You put in the work, give it some time, and see where it takes you. 🥃

Something you might not expect: wh***ey comes off the still clear.

The amber color develops during aging as the spirit interacts with the wood of the barrel.

A little time in oak changes quite a bit.

What makes good wh***ey? It starts with good ingredients.

We're fortunate to be right in the heart of the Midwest, where quality grains are plentiful. We also have great relationships with local producers that allow us to hand-select the grains we use.

Corn, rye, wheat, malted barley... every grain brings something different to the finished spirit.

Before it ever reaches the still or the barrel, there's a lot of thought that goes into what's going into the mash.

It was an absolute honor to be a part of this incredible conservation effort!

Bottled in bond. Double distilled. 100 proof. Pure Missouri roots. Aged for four years in charred Missouri white oak casks. In collaboration with Fernweh Distillery and the L-A-D Foundation's Pioneer Forest, we are proud to present Missouri's first-ever conservation bourbon: Acorn to Glass. For this perfect-for-sipping bourbon to make its way into your glass, an acorn had to sprout into a strong Missouri white oak tree. The forest it called home had to be protected and nurtured. Eventually, the timber harvested turned into charred white oak casks, imparting incomparable natural flavors to the bourbon as it aged. It only feels right that proceeds from this bourbon will be reinvested into conserving the environments that shaped its journey.
