You may recognize Stonehouse Distillery, LLC in Winston, known for their great whiskies, rum and scotch that are carefully crafted by John Grahlert. It is also home to a marvelous cocktail program designed by his wife, Snezhi, who integrates seasonal flavors as well as adding her personal touch to highlight the unique and flavorsome spirits used.
The Highlander Bar and Grill's Executive Chef Eric Wallen hails from Gainsville, Florida and arrived to Helena in July 2023. In addition to working with many reputable chefs throughout his career, he has lead the galley departments for over nine years on various private and charter yachts. Moreover, Chef Eric specializes in American regional specialties and curating culinary experiences for guests. When he's not working, he enjoys bubble baths, shoveling snow and feeding the ranch dog, Griffey.

We have a winner! We had a contest in December to guess the date the lake would freeze over and .... drum roll please... Congratulations to Margie Arnst who guessed January 13th $$$ On January 14th, Helena had four consecutive days of freezing temps and Canyon Ferry was officially frozen over! An honorable mention goes to Michelle Rodriguez who guessed January 12th and July Goyins who guessed January 22nd. Thanks for playing!

Check out our upcoming events at the Highlander. We love live music and great food, and you get both here every Friday and Saturday (except this Saturday because it's just too damn cold to go out!). Sunday brunch and BINGO is fun for everyone and our Sunday night homemade pizzas are the best in town (just ask our customers!!!).

We're really excited about partnering with our neighbors across the lake at Stonehouse Distillery for a cocktail and food pairing on Feb 1. Distiller John Grahlert and his wife, Snezhi, will bring seasonal flavors, as well as add a twist, to highlight the unique and flavorsome spirits used. In the back of the house Chef Eric Wallen will incorporate traditional favorites as well as a range of house-made savory local delights. Chef Eric insists on buying local whenever he can and continues to build his list of trusted farms and producers.
