We were absolutely thrilled to have the privilege of hosting the Healdsburg International Short Festival welcome party at Portalupi! 🍷

There’s something pretty special about bringing people together over great w**e, good conversation, and a shared appreciation for creativity. We loved seeing filmmakers, film lovers, and our wonderful community come together to celebrate the incredible talent and stories showcased throughout the weekend.

Meet the newest addition to the Portalupi family…Falanghina!

Originally from Campania in Southern Italy, Falanghina is loved for its bright acidity, citrus and stone-fruit flavors, delicate florals, and refreshing character.

Our newest harvest is sourced from Lucky 21 Vineyard in Alexander Valley, bringing this classic Italian variety a distinctly California expression.

Ryan recently made the trip to the Sierra Foothills to visit one of our most special vineyard sites, the Shake Ridge Ranch in Amador County, beautifully farmed and operated by the incredibly talented Ann Kraemer.

Perched high in the rugged, sun drenched hills of Amador, Shake Ridge is a remarkable place where elevation, rocky soils, and dramatic diurnal shifts create fruit with incredible character and concentration. It’s also the source of several Portalupi favorites including our Primitivo, Zinfandel, and Barbera.

Also, our Barbera has been having a moment. The 2024 Shake Ridge Barbera took home Best of Class at the San Francisco Chronicle W**e Competition, a pretty fantastic recognition of what this vineyard can produce.

For us, Shake Ridge Ranch represents so much of what we love about California w**es… a truly distinctive site, thoughtful farming, and grapes that have a story to tell long before they ever make it into the cellar.

We’re grateful to Ann for her dedication to this extraordinary vineyard and excited to keep sharing a little piece of Shake Ridge with you, one bottle at a time.

For us, w**emaking has always been about more than what ends up in the bottle. It’s about honoring the traditions, character, and soul of Italian w**e while embracing the place we call home. It’s the passion, patience, and countless decisions along the way that bring a w**e from vineyard to glass.

As we prepare to bottle this next vintage, we’re incredibly excited to share a little more of the people and passion behind Portalupi, and to invite you along as we step into this next era.

Harvest is underway, and we’re taking a moment to highlight Stonewall Ranch, the exceptional vineyard site that is home to our Sangiovese Grosso.

The 2024 vintage showcased the character of this remarkable site, earning our Sangiovese Grosso Best of Class at the Press Democrat North Coast W**e Competition.

As the new vintage begins, we’re excited to watch another season unfold in the vineyard and see what Stonewall Ranch will bring us this year.

And, of course, a very heartfelt thank you to Rich Bennett for continuing to share his incredible talent, enthusiasm, and passion for bringing creativity into our community. Your ability to make art feel approachable, fun, and inspiring is truly something special.

Join DRNK W**es and Daughter’s Dahlias & Blooms for an unforgettable evening of w**e, flowers, and creativity set within the stunning w**e caves and terrace. The experience begins with a cave tour and guided tasting led by DRNK founder, Katie Kunde. Guests will explore the w**ery’s underground caves while sampling a selection of DRNK’s newest summer releases. Following the tasting, local dahlia grower and sustainable florist Jenny Tamayo of Daughter’s Dahlias & Blooms will share an engaging introduction to the world of dahlias, covering their remarkable diversity, growing tips, and seasonal care. Jenny will then demonstrate the art of bouquet design, offering step-by-step instruction on creating a naturally styled arrangement and the elegant wrap technique that completes the presentation. Guests will then have the opportunity to select from buckets of freshly harvested dahlias and lush seasonal foliage to create their own one-of-a-kind wrapped bouquet. All materials are provided, and the Daughter’s Dahlias & Blooms team will be on hand to offer guidance and assistance throughout the workshop. Whether you’re a w**e enthusiast, flower lover, or simply looking for a unique w**e country experience, this intimate workshop offers the perfect blend of education and creativity.

Tonight, we’re heading to Sonoma County Vintners Pour + Explore: Four Valleys at Paradise Ridge W**ery alongside 30+ incredible Sonoma County w**eries for an evening of w**e, sunsets, art, cheese, charcuterie, and all the good things that make this community so special.
