Thank you, Woop Nation.

As this chapter of our journey ends, we wanted to say "thank you" one final time to everyone that has been part of this crazy, insane adventure. Our loyal customers, our amazing staff past and present, the fantastically talented bands that graced our floor, and the vendors who kept us stocked with incredible food and drink that kept y'all coming back.

This wouldn't have worked without all of these ingredients for success. When you put it all together, it's actually very, VERY humbling.

We are proud to be going out on (mostly) our own terms. Meaning, the money didn't run out. The global pandemic didn't shut us down. This industry is so unforgiving; the slightest missteps, if not managed well, can put you in a hole that you're never going to be able to dig out from. Go Google "restaurant success rates" if you don't believe me.

The world at large has become so ugly and dark in our lifetimes, and the ugliness seems to be accelerating. But we are so proud to have painted this tiny corner of Haysville in beauty and light and fun and love. We are so proud to have offered a place for you to come in and gather and socialize and laugh.

I'll repeat what I said last night. The true test at the end is the answer to a simple pass/fail question: did you leave it better than you found it? By this metric, I would like to think that the answer for The Woop is a resounding YES.

And I hope that the new owners will be able to give the same answer. Given their motivation and new energy, I think they have a more-than-fighting chance.

We ask that you please give Seitzie's the same love and support you showed us since 2016. We are turning the keys over to them this week, so please keep an eye out for their opening date.

Kindness matters, always. You never fully know what kind of battles people are fighting, so let's err on the side of kindness. It costs nothing.

We will see you down the road. Much love from the Woop family to yours. Thank you for being a part of this; we will never forget you.

Next time y'all want pizza, give a shout to our friends at GG's Pizza LLC in Jasper and Monte's over in Ireland. Skip the chains, Dimmino's and Papa Joe's and Little Sneezits. GG's and Monte's are small businesses entirely dependent on your love and support, and they will always have the full Woop endorsement.

If we say it's good, then it's good, right? :)

Saturday, 3/2/24:

Dear Woop Nation,

We would love for you to join us today to celebrate our final day in business. We will be opening at 4 PM and keeping the lights on till entertainment tonight ends.

Our kitchen will be closed today. We will be providing pizza from a couple of local pizza places who have also supported us through this journey. We're essentially going to spend our final day as a bar and grill to just...being a bar.

At 5:30 PM, Wabash Deluge will kick off the festivities with a couple of hours of rock and roll. Our very own Rod and his band mates rocked the house here on Thanksgiving Eve, and we are so proud to have them back as part of our final day. We hope that you'll pack The Woop for these amazingly talented kids from VU.

Then at 9 PM, Eighty-Sixt will take the floor and play us out. Those of you close to us know how important they have been to us these last 7 1/2 years, and we are so thrilled that our schedules aligned to where they could be a part of this. When the book about the history of The Woop is written, they would get at least a chapter in it.

And then ... that's it. The culmination of more than 7 years of blood, sweat, tears, joy, laughter, music, and hard work. We will have more to say in the coming days.

We would absolutely be honored for you to be a part of this special day. Thank you, Woop Nation. Hope to see you tonight.
