THE ELITE SERIES: 9-BALL PRO, 10-BALL PRO, & LAGGER’S CHOICE 🏆🔥
Ready to take the "luck" out of the equation? We are highlighting three formats designed for the tactical player who wants to leave no doubt about who the better shooter is.

Here is your guide to the most strategic games in the NAPA playbook:

1. 9-BALL PRO: The "No-Cheese" Rotation 💎
In 9-Ball Pro, we eliminate early "lucky" wins to focus on the pure run-out.

Earn the Win: The 9-ball must be the last ball to drop to win the rack. You cannot win early with a combination or carom.

Alternating Breaks: In this Pro format, breaks alternate every game to ensure a level playing field.

The "Option" Rule: If the 9-ball falls into the wrong pocket, your opponent can play it as it lies or hand it back. The 9-ball is spotted immediately before the next player shoots.

2. 10-BALL PRO: The Ultimate Test 🎯
10-Ball Pro combines strict "Call-Pocket" rules with professional rotation strategy.

No Short Cuts: Like 9-Ball Pro, the 10-ball must be the final ball pocketed to win.

The "Play Option": If you pocket any ball in the wrong pocket, your opponent can force you to shoot again. If the 10-ball fell in incorrectly, it is spotted immediately.

3. LAGGER’S CHOICE: Set the Tone 🎭
In Lagger’s Choice, the winner of the lag decides how the entire match will be played.

One Game, One Match: Once a game format (8, 9, or 10-ball) is picked at the start, that is the format for the full match.

Winner Breaks: This format follows the "Winner Breaks" rule. If you win the game, you break in the next one.

The Power of the Lag: The winner of the opening lag chooses:

Pick the Game: You choose the format for the match, but you must rack for your opponent.

Take the Break: You get the opening break, but your opponent chooses the game format.

Rackless Match Strategy: To hunt that bonus point, you must win the lag and choose to break instead of picking the game. From there, you have to win every rack to keep the break!.

4. PRO-STYLE STANDARDS
Rack Your Own: In both Pro formats, you are responsible for your own tight rack every time.

The 3-Foul Rule: If enabled, three consecutive fouls is a loss of rack. Just remember: your opponent must warn you when you're on your 2nd foul!.

WHY STEP UP TO ELITE PLAY?
These formats are for the shooter who wants to play the game the way the pros do. No early flukes, no easy outs—just skill and strategy.

THE 10-BALL BREAKDOWN: THE PLAYER’S GAME 🔟🎯
NAPA 10-Ball (v13.14) is a rotation game with a "Call-Pocket" twist. It’s designed to ensure that the player who executes the best plan wins the rack.

1. The Triangle Rack
Unlike the diamond in 9-ball, 10-ball uses a triangular rack.

The Setup: The 1-ball is at the apex, the 10-ball is in the middle, and the 2 and 3 balls are in the back corners.

The Break: You must strike the 1-ball first. To be a legal break, you must either pocket a ball or drive 4 numbered balls to a rail.

Instant Win: If you pocket the 10-ball on a legal break (and don't scratch), you win the game immediately!

2. "Call-Pocket" Rotation
This is the biggest difference from 9-ball. In 10-ball, you must call your intended ball and pocket on every single shot (except the break).

Intentionality: There are no "lucky flukes" here. If you pocket the ball in the wrong pocket, or pocket an uncalled ball, your turn ends.

The Play Option: This is a unique 10-ball strategy! If you pocket a ball illegally (wrong pocket or uncalled ball), your opponent has the "Play Option":

They can take the shot as it lies.

They can force you to shoot again.

3. The "Push Out" (Post-Break Strategy)
Just like in 9-ball, if you are "hooked" after a legal break, you can call a Push Out.

You can move the cue ball anywhere to create a better safety or a vision on the 1-ball.

Your opponent then chooses to play it or give it back. It’s the ultimate tactical reset.

4. Pocketing the 10-Ball
To Win: You must pocket the 10-ball in a verbally called pocket. This can be done in rotation, or via a legal combination/carom at any time during the rack.

The "Oops" Rule: If you pocket the 10-ball while legally making your called object ball (but didn't call the 10), the 10-ball is spotted, and you keep shooting!

Scratching on the 10: If you pocket the 10 but scratch, the 10 is spotted and your opponent gets ball-in-hand.

5. Pro-Level Conduct
90-Second Rack: Just like our other formats, we keep the game moving. You have 90 seconds to get those balls tight and ready to break.

Jump Cues: Legal jump cues are allowed! Just remember: a proper downward stroke is required, and a miscue on a jump is a ball-in-hand foul.

The Liferating: Your 10-ball matches feed into your real-time NAPA rating, ensuring your handicap is always a perfect reflection of your skill.

WHY WE LOVE 10-BALL:
10-Ball is the perfect middle ground between the "Call-Pocket" discipline of 8-ball and the fast rotation of 9-ball. It’s a game of "no excuses" where your ability to call and execute a shot is the only thing that matters.

Rules Explained -

THE NAPA PLAYBOOK: ELEVATE YOUR GAME 🎱💎
What makes our league different? It’s all about the NAPA (North American Poolshooters Association) format—a set of rules designed to reward your strategy and bring a professional feel to every match.

Whether you’re here to sharpen your skills or just enjoy a competitive night out, here are the key gameplay highlights you’ll want to know:

The "Call-Pocket" Standard (8-Ball)
We play by the rule of Intentional Play. In 8-ball and 10-ball, you’ll call your pocket for every shot.

How it works: Simply announce your ball and pocket (or point clearly).

The Benefit: There’s a special kind of satisfaction in calling a tough bank or a long-rail shot and watching it go exactly where you planned. It turns every rack into a game of skill and ex*****on.

Pro-Tip: You only need to call the ball and the pocket—no need to worry about the number of cushions or "kisses" along the way!

9-Ball Strategy: The "Push Out"
NAPA 9-ball introduces one of the most exciting rules in the sport: The Push Out.

The Scenario: If the break leaves the cue ball in a spot where you can’t see the lowest ball, you can call a "Push Out."

The Play: You can move the cue ball anywhere on the table to set up a better position.

The Choice: Your opponent then decides: they can take the shot as it lies, or they can hand it back to you. It adds a brilliant layer of "cat and mouse" strategy to the game!

Keeping the Rhythm (The 90-Second Rule)
To keep the energy high and make sure everyone gets plenty of table time, NAPA uses a 90-second racking limit. This keeps the "flow" of the match going and ensures we spend more time shooting and less time setting up!

Professional Handling & Fouls
Ball-In-Hand: Most fouls (like a scratch or missing your ball) result in Ball-In-Hand anywhere on the table.

Jump Shots: Technical jump shots are fully legal with a proper downward stroke. Mastering the "jump" is a great way to add a pro-level tool to your kit.

The Liferating: Your Real-Time Progress
Your handicap isn't a guess; it’s a math-based Liferating (0-125+). It updates every 24 hours based on your match scores. It’s the most accurate way to see your game improve session after session.

WHY WE LOVE THIS FORMAT:
These mechanics are designed to make you a better, more thoughtful player. When you play in this league, you aren't just "hitting balls"—you’re learning the professional standards of the sport.
